Yeah, the title should pretty much explain it. It's SEGA Kart. A kart racing game with various SEGA characters and various SEGA inspired tracks. Just trying out the demo now. It's pretty fun, but then it's not hard to make a kart racing game fun, because all you have to do is copy Mario Kart. Although they have simplified things a bit (yeah, they simplified Mario Kart). You have an accelerate button, a drift button, and a button for your power-ups. No brake button and no boost button. The drift button doesn't make you jump, but if you press while in the air you do a trick, which earns boost if you complete it before landing. Boosting is automatic and happens after a trick or after you drift for a while.
And that's it as far as I can see. You can only play as Sonic or Eggman in the demo (Eggman's better), and there's only one track. The other characters are made up of more Sonic characters, Billy Hatcher, some little monkey called Amigo, two dudes from Virtua fighter, that Ryo guy, and probably some others.

Is it as fun as Mario Kart games? Do you know if it has online?

I can't believe people bitched about Sonic not running instead of using a cart. Are they fucking morons? I mean it's not like it means Sonic can't use his speed, it's the fact it's a KART RACING GAME, it's for fun. And it's already happened before too in Sonic Drift, people are stupid.

It has online, and I've only played Mario Kart 64. But one kart racing game is about as fun as the next in my experience.
And Eggman's kart is actually faster than Sonic's. Sonic's has better acceleration.

I wish there was a 3rd Sonic Riders that had online, now that would be cool.
Also what's with all the Sonic levels in this kart game being stages from Heroes? Wouldn't it be more fun if they were like memorable Adventure 1 and 2 stages?

I dunno. I haven't read up on the game at all, I just downloaded the demo. The only available track I could see was the Billy Hatcher one.

It can't be SEGA Kart if it doesn't have Comix Zone in it. -_-

The game has up to 4 player split screen and online play
i can see why ppl complained about sonic using a cart in the sense that his car is so fricking slow i'm suprised he didn't get pissed off get out and push the thing
he would be faster doing that
but yeah i get it if this was a running game sonic or shadow or whoever would just beat everyone hands down

Oh God, Why did I think of that comic that Mew posted somewhere?
It had Shadow riding a motorcycle and Sonic running passed him. Sonic then slows down to ask him why he's riding the bike when Shadow goes, "BECAUSE I'M THE ULTIMATE BADASS!"

And then nine months later, Sonic Free Riders came out. Sora can predict the future.

You didn't exactly wish for a good game either. All you wished for was "Sonic Riders 3 with online". Nothing more, nothing less.

Well, it's not like I intended for my wish to have a monkey paw-esque kind of deal which caused much distress to purchasers of that game.
Really.

He rarely plays online, we sometimes have connection and don't have a headset. So as much as i'd like to play it with him that don't seem like a plausible reason to get this.
You wanna grab this moose i saw it for 13 pounds.

Not really much point in you playing it if you don't like it.

I have the first for the DS. It's alright, But I'm sure the console versions are better. The only reason I got it for the DS is because I wasn't even interested in the game, And then I saw it for dirt cheap for the DS and decided, "eh, I may as well."
The DS version has a shop that you can spend money (Sega Miles) to buy characters, tracks, & music. Not sure how the consoles do that sort of thing.
The DS remakes of the music isn't too terrible, either. From what I gather, The consoles just reuse the original music from the games they came from.
