So there's 101 drug drops and 99 black boxes?

Whuh? I got 100 of each. Maybe you ran into some kind of bug?

I have 300 items collected. 100 skulls, 101 drug drops, and 99 black boxes.

Huh... odd. Do you recall finding some sort of drug drop underwater?

Or maybe it's just a glitch in the overall tally and you really did get 100 of each.

Picking this up for £10, will play it in January. Anything I should keep in mind?

I'd recommend playing on the easiest setting, just for maximum fun. And never underestimate the grapple. During any mission where there's a car chase it's invaluable.

Can you use the grapple while in a car?

No, but in the most of the mission car chases your on top of the car, in which case the grapple is much better to use than guns. Just hook the car to the road and flip it over. Or shoot out one of the front tires, that's always fun. The earlier mission like that were a bit difficult for me because I was just trying to shoot everyone.

You can tether anything to anything.

What would happen if i attached a car to a helicopter?

It would probably break. It's not infinitely strong or anything. Although it would probably depend which one you were in. If you were piloting the helicopter, it should work fine. There's an achievement called Wrecking Ball for wrecking or killing stuff with an object tethered to a helicopter.

How long does the story take when playing straight through it?
I was thinking of playing through it on the hardest difficulty after pumping myself up with the demo.

There's 7 or so proper story missions, but you have to do side missions to unlock them. Probably 8-10 hours if you only did the missions. But I think you'd have a hard time not getting distracted. I finished the story about 30 hours in, and then played it for further 100 hours.

I think I'll play through the story on Very Hard (or whatever), then create another save on the easiest difficulty in which I just faff about.

Arenj't the armies a bit thin though on the loweszt setting I just did the first mission on the hardest setting, and there weren't that many and it says higher difficulties = more soldiers

You get higher alert levels as you progress. I suspect that's what it meant. Level 5 is pretty hectic even on the easiest setting. But I didn't play this game for any kind of challenge, so I didn't really care.

What i'm really asking is the combat fun on higher difficulties or is it just cheap?

You've always got enough options at your disposal to stop it feeling cheap.

Can i change difficulty mid game?

Don't know. Never tried.
