Been playing this on the 360 over the weekend.
It's by Bioware, the same guys who made Knight of the Old Republic and Mass Effect, though it has more in common with the former in terms of game play. Unsurprisingly, in fact, it feels a lot like a swords and sorcery version on KotOR, in that the combat is quite similar, the graphics are passable rather than great, ad the story is reasonably strong. It's a big game too, with six different paths to follow dependant on your intitial character choise, and having played it for around eight hours, I'm only around 15% in.
Quite enjoying it really, though I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's cuppa.

Had to return the game today... I managed to clock up 35 hours in a week, and still only got my game completion up to around 63%. Yep, it's a huge game. As good as Mass Effect....? I'm not sure. It's certainly bigger, and the side missions are much better than ME's which were invariably dull, but I'm not sure the main narrative nor game mechanics are quite as strong. The supporting cast aren't always that strong either, though uber-bitch Morrigan, Shale the Golem, and Leliani the Bard do stand out. Still, great game.

Well, I bought it....for the PS3. Though, I was hoping to start off already sorta evil, I've been more or less a prick to everybody but I haven't done anything evil yet. ....I think I need to change races. Damn Humans.

Try the City Elf origin. It'll make you hate humans, and make being a bit of an arse to them considerably easier.

What did you pick as an origin? Dwarf Noble has some great opportunities for dickishness.

I know, Jesus. It's especially fitting if you're playing as a female.
But I'm playing as a Dalish one...for now. I might give a Male Mage a go...Just for a certain part in the place Arl Eamen or whoever lives in. (I forgot the name of the place, and I've been there three times already.)

DO: A is a bit of a slow burner. Initially, you'll be put off by the pacing and the rather mediocre graphics, but when it does get it's claws into you you won't be able to put it down. Unlike KotOR II, DA: O has a proper ending too.

Just A proper ending? And not multiple endings? That's it, I'm joining the darkspawn.

DO: A does have a few different endings, though most of the changes are via the text that follows the ending cutscenes.

Okay, Now I'm finally getting somewhere. Didn't expect Sten The Pimp to go Buddha on me and try to test my skillz like he did when we got to Haven. But whatever, After this, I'll have The Mages & The Dwarves left to recruit. I'm saving the Dwarves for last because of where I got to on my Human Noble playthrough.

Orzammar is a pain in the arse, just because it's so big. Wandering around the Deep Roads got boring after a while.
