season 8 episode 12

Smithers: What time is it?
Bart: 12:80. No... no, wait... what comes after 12?
Smithers: 1.
Bart: No, after 12.

Homer: You know, Mr. Burns, you're the richest guy I know. Way richer than Lenny.
Burns: Ah yes. But I'd trade it all for a little more.

Sherry Bobbins: Lord and Lady Huffington of Sussex.
Homer *aside*: Marge, do we know them?
Marge: No.
Homer *aside*: Come on, isn't he the guy I bowl with? The black guy?
Marge: That's Carl.
Homer *aside*: Oh yeah!
Homer: So, you worked for Carl eh?

They've been taking the piss out of themselves a bit in last couple of episodes.

That's the Poochie episode and that one where Homer thinks Bart's gay. A few mentions of how it looks a bit old because nothing about the design has changed since 1988 and how shows get stale after being on for years.

Also, a joke that I never actually got on previous viewings, when Bart is wearing the Hawaiian shirt;

Homer: Bart, where'd you get that shirt?
Bart: I dunno, came out of the closet.

Eh... it's getting so-so now. I'm about 8 episodes into season 9, and it's gone back to the standard of the first few seasons. Not bad, but nothing special.

Season 9, episode 15;

Comedian (I forget the name of the guy it's supposed to be): I finally got round to reading the dictionary. Turns out the zebra did it.
*everybody laughs*
Homer: I don't get it.
Lisa: Dad, the zebra didn't actually do anything. It's just a word at the end of the dictionary.
Homer: I don't get it.
Lisa: It's just a joke.
Homer: Oh, I get it! I get jokes.

Season 9 episode 19

Grandpa: My homer is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star!

Season 9 episode 23

Homer: Ohh my dad's a disgrace! Just like Bart's dad. Me.

And also a line at the end of the episode which I never actually noticed before, when he gets back down the mountain.

Homer: Oh Marge! I never thought you'd see me again!

Wow. Season 10 episode 10 (the Edison one) is actually pretty damn good. Better than anything in season 9, and most of season 8.

Homer: And this Hardy Boys book is good too. 'sabout smugglers.
Bart: Dad, they're all about smugglers.
Homer: No, not this one. "The Smuggler of Pirate Cove", it's about pirates.

The make-up gun scene is great too. And there was a couple other things about that episode that I can't remember now.

The Tokyo one is, not the Africa one. The Tokyo one wasn't that great, apart from "If we'd wanted to see Japanese people we could've just gone to the zoo".

I love it.

The rest of season 10 was pretty average. Same for season 11 so far. Although it does have that "It's an illusion" line, which for some reason stuck in my head and I actually say it in conversation sometimes.

Season 11 episode 13

Bill Clinton: I've personally overturned the results of that band contest. Congratulations.
Lisa: Thank you Mr. President.
Bill Clinton: No, thank you Lisa for teaching kids everywhere a valuable lesson. If things don't go your way, just keep complaining until your dreams come true.
Marge: That's a pretty lousy lesson.
Bill Clinton: Hey, I'm a pretty lousy president.

Huh. I never made the connection between that "no foot-longs" comment and the reveal of Ned's massive penis before.

Episode 15

"It's easy to see why it's England's longest running series. And tonight we're showing all 7 episodes."

Cheeky wankers. On that note, this episode is the second time they've said wanker on The Simpsons, that I can remember. The first time was that episode that U2 were in.
