That episode where Homer becomes a missionary, they have those fund raising bits for the network. And the end the woman was "If you don't want to see crude, low-brow entertainment vanish from the airways, donate now" and the Family Guy title thingy was on the TV.

And I'm not sure about the Bart thing. It sounds familiar, but I've probably just heard it over the years at some point. What episode is it in?

Not sure if those are jokes or just genuine lazy writing. Or self aware genuinely lazy writers poking fun at their own lazy writing.

I must say I really do love that. That's a proper sitcom plot moment.

No, but I've watched it for the greater part of my life. Back when I could only watch it on BBC2 when I was like.... 5. I wish it hadn't deteriorated, but...

there's still always good episodes
there's highs and lows
current season is pretty good

Nah, I reckon it was still of acceptable up to at least 10.

Of course. Nearly all of it is acceptable. Just not as good as seasons 5-7.
