Bluray discs more environmentally friendly than digital downloads.

Apparently the energy required to power your devices while downloading the game is more than it takes to manufacture a disc and deliver it to shops/your door, meaning digital distribution ends up having a larger carbon footprint. Pretty interesting.

Interesting, does it also take into account manufacturing the plastic cases? Blu Ray discs are also a bit less biodegradable than digital content.

The article mentions non-recyclable packaging so I assume so. I didn't think this would be the case, though I doubt anyone did, now I'm just curious to see if there's anyone on the planet who would let something like this dictate their purchasing habits.
