I went there a couple of times. That Spoony guy really gets into hating the game, but loving Quistis at the same time.

I still don't understand how anyone could NOT understand the junction system. THE GAME HAS A FRIGGIN' TUTORIAL AND EVERYTHING!

Perhaps the TC thought it was too tedious.

A) Some people hate reading instructions and ignore the tutorials.
B) Some people find it so tedious that, in their boredom, it doesn't sink in.
C) Just because there is a tutorial doesn't mean it's a very clear tutorial.
D) Some tutorials only cover the basics and don't give the details you need.

To be fair, the tutorial for it sucks balls.

Not clear at all and it's just boring to wade through.

Thanks for summing that up.

A good spell to junction to your STR in the beginning is Water.

Fight the fish on the beach until you get about 5 fish fins and use Shiva's Ice/water magic refine skill to get 100 Waters.

Or play the card game. If your VERY, VERY, VERY patient it's actually possible to get the materials you need for Squall's Lionheart weapon.

The Water Junctioning is also because of the boss fight with Ifrit a little later on, right?

A student in Balamb Garden gives you a set. It should be right outside Quistis's room, after you download or whatever, the GFs.

Learning card is a bitch too.

In the beginning, you are pretty much restricted to refining fire, ice, lightning and water magic.

Nothing game breaking about those elements.

Well, it isn't long til you find a Fira......I think.

Alright, So.. Level up the Snake bird. Then learn water skills and play cards. Gotcha.

Well, you CAN obtain Flare in the beginning.

The card game is fun. Way better than FF9's card game.

Just watch out for the random rule. That one can screw you over.

You don't get Random rule until way later on in the game.

I love the character cards, especially Edea and Rinoa's.

No I'm pretty sure you can get the random rule as early on as Dollet.
