The Road

Just watched this. Pretty good film, if a bit oppressive. It's about a man and his son journeying across a post apocalyptic America, and there's just no sense of hope throughout the whole film. Which makes it hard to know how to feel about the characters, because there's nothing to root for. It's just constant depression. But I suppose that's the point, what with it being post apocalyptic and all.

Never been a fan of Viggo Mortensen either.

I heard this film was very boring, being based on a novel that was 90% atmospheric description, a technique that works fine for literature but horrible for film.

I didn't find it boring. Obviously it's not rip-roaring entertainment. It's just a depressingly realistic depiction of survival after an apocalyptic event.

Damn it stop just posting a video and not saying anything.

Also, to say that nothing happens in the film is a bit silly. Especially given the clip of Adaptation used in that video. Plenty of shit happens.

I found History of Violence intolerably dull. Haven't liked him since. He's good in this though.
