It looks better than Tekken.

I'm not all too familiar with King of Fighters so I think I'll play a few of the games to get familiar before I go see the movie.

Right, so... What is everyone's problem with this? I assume since it's just KoF fans annoyed because the characters don't look like they should and the story isn't what it is in the game? I know nothing of KoF so I'm just guessing, since that's always the reception these films get.

But, look at it. It doesn't look like a bad film. Watching that side by side with the Tekken trailer, I'd rather watch KoF. Even though Tekken did get some of the costumes (in fact some of them are so exact they just look fucking stupid), and generally got some semblance of the story of Tekken 4 worked in there, by the look of it.

The only thing that that's a bit annoying in the KoF trailer is that every woman in the film seems to be wearing the same outfit.

Okay, Remember the whole DB/Z vs. Dragonball Evolution deal? This is the same thing, Only with a fighting game.

Well yeah, but DBE was just a shit film all on it's own, without even considering the source material. This looks like a decent enough anime-ish action film. It reminds me of Casshern a bit.

I agree. I know nothing of KoF as well, but it looks fairly good.

Oh you can't compare it to DOA. I think that's the only case where the film's story would have been even more ridiculous and stupid had they followed the game. A pair of sunglasses that makes you a great fighter is silly, yeah, but DOA storyline is a giant clusterfuck of nonsense anyway.
