lol, "Gimme my fucking memories!"
Also, If Kima has a problem with innocent people dying on a daily basis. Then he shouldn't watch me play Saints Row 2. XD I average out about 5+ deaths per minute on foot, 20+ in a vehicle. And that's from being on the sidewalk, Taking a stroll.
I look forward to taking some of those "strolls" in Prototype. XD

Oh, I have no problem with killing innocents; sometimes, I can be one sadistic motherfucker. My issue is that the protagonist just strikes me as a selfish dick; I could take that in almost any other setting, but in the middle of such a crisis, I like to be able to choose sides or feel like I'm accomplishing something outside of my personal goals.
I dunno how to explain it... I guess I just have a shitload more compassion for people in a "crisis", as opposed to people in "trouble" or suffering under my own dickishness for the sake of being a dick.

Again, I think it's more the setting than the character himself.

*facepalm* No... it...
Well, I don't think it's the parts so much as the sum of the parts.
Selfish dick + city-wide crisis + indescriminate killing + grit and gore = distasteful (for me)

Not sure how many citizens will be left by the time you really get going with the powers. Most of it looks like you'll be fighting mutants or the military.

Seriously. These people are idiots. The safest thing to do would be to hide in one of the buildings. Then come out after everything settles down.

I've mellowed out about the issue. I just needed a good song to remind me to have a sense of humour about rampant destruction. ^__^

NPCs are probably the most idiotic characters in games. Expecially in super power games. They're usually fine until you come to comfort them and they flip out

Having seen an older trailer with clearer battle imagery, it would appear that most of the people on the streets are Infected or antagonistic military. So I guess my bitching wasn't all that relevant anyways...

Eh, I don't really like flash forward game openings. You get a taste of a bunch of awesome stuff that's going to be taken away from you in about 5 minutes and then you have to earn it back.

Still looks pretty good though, and certainly more interesting than inFamous.

I rented it a little while ago and have been playing it up to this point.
Man, is it fun! It really sucks you in! ...no pun intended.

Oh heck, this was out today wasn't it? I'll probably have to wait a while for it, I've just spent loads of money this month on my car, and couldn't justify another game.

It's brilliant.
Probably take me a while to complete though, because it's too much fun just dicking around to do missions. Play it for about 3 hours with realising it had been that long. The opening action flash forward thing was odd as always (for me anyways). It's supposed to be hectic and stuff but they always go kind of slow because the game is asking to do a lot of stuff right away, and they have to be much easier than the game will actually be when it gets to that stage.
But once you get a chance to freeroam it's great. Controls take a little getting used to. The way Alex moves can be a bit deceptive at first. It works like Assassin's Creed in that you can run around normally, and then holding RT while running puts you in sprint and you can go up walls and vault over anything smaller than a van just by running at it. You hold A to charge a jump and release it to actually jump, and it's tempting at first to just try to jump everything yourself, until you release Alex does a lot of the work himself and it's better to wait for him to vault on to a ledge or car or fence and then jump.
Had some fun running around and doing a couple missions, and bought a few upgrades. The running grab is massively fun. Vaulting over a car, grabbing it from under you, somersaulting and throwing it down the road at oncoming traffic and landing running, catching up with it as it smashes into other cars, and leaping over the whole bunch as they explode is something that won't get for a long time.
And you actually can consume absolutely anyone. Just... anyone. And you store your last disguise so you always have one handy, and being in disguise doesn't restrict your actions at all, you can leap around as an old lady if you like. Holding and using guns doesn't restirst your movement in any way either. Almost nothing does, I love it.
And despite the fact that the story seems to follow a specific timeline of numbered days, there is a day/night cycle.
Only complaints so far is that I can only throw things when I'm in the air, although hopefully there's an upgrade for that.
Also, a graphics complaint. At street level, there's always plenty of hussle and bussle in the immediate vicinity, and it looks great. But get up high and look into the distance, especially at the surrounding non-accessible areas (You are on Manhattan Island after all) and all you'll be greeted with is big blue building blocks with almost no texture. Not a big complaint, but it is kind of ugly.
