| Just finished P4, clocked in at just over 80 hours and barring the auto pilot feel of the first three or so hours, I loved every minute of it.
Question is, if i fancy another SMT game which should I go for? P3 doesn't really appeal, so one of the DDS titles, or Nocturne perhaps? Is that the one with the Dante cameo?

| Nocturne is the one with Dante.
But the DDS games are essentially the greatest thing to come out of MegaTen ever.

| Do I need to play DDS1 before DDS2, or is that not important? | |

| DDS1 and DDS2 make the entire game.
But yes you can. That's how I was introduced to MegaTen as a matter of fact.

| DDS1 it is then. All I've got to do now is find a copy; they're very hard to come by. | |

| I don't like amazon much, but if it was the only place I could find it, then that might be an option. | |

| America >>> Europe when it comes to games. I've only seen one or two copies of P3 and two of P4, so I had to order over the internet. | |

| Yeah, they tend to be available for a short time upon release, then they simply don't get restocked. That's the thing with very niche games, if you want them you have to grab them quickly.
Looking around, DDS, DDS2 and Lucifer's Call are on ebay for around £20, which isn't bad all told, though I'll wait a little while before embarking on any of them. Having clocked up almost 100 hours so far on P4, I think the other half might like me to spend a little time with her!

| It's not just niche games. My KH2 disc broke down and I tried looking for a new one, but I couldn't find a single copy in any store, nor could I find one online. Surely you'd think a big game like that, one that even went platinum, would be easy to find. | |

| I already got one from my friend, who had two discs. Also, after playing both games back to back I can confidently say that 2 is much, much better in the gameplay department. The overall worlds and story is a different story, but KH1 is a bitch to play and I didn't like that at all. | |

| I never liked KH2 much. I stuck with it all the way, waiting for that moment when it all comes together, and it never happened. I spent forty hours playing a game I didn't enjoy, simply because I was being told by everyone else how good it was. I want those hours back dammit! | |

| The problem with KH2 was that the story, which was rather dull to begin with, was told at the beginning, in the middle and at the end, leaving a bunch of uninteresting Disney worlds inbetween that all had nothing to do with the main story at all. It created a sort of detachment from everything that mattered, because you never saw anything important and were just racing through Disney worlds so that you could get to the main story again, but once you got there, you already forgot what previously transpired. Not to mention, you were quickly thrown into another slew of Disney worlds, the same Disney worlds no less!
I still think the Hollow Bastion war is one of the most epic things ever though. And Sora is a beast in KH2 (which created another issue called difficulty, but that's another story).
While KH1 had the story neatly planned out throughout, the camera was incredibly wonky and I found myself throwing the controller at stuff that didn't matter (my Wii) multiple times, because of the awful platforming (fucking Monstro, for example). And Riku was a giant faggot.

| Yeah, about the only moments of pleasure I got from the game were the various FFVII cameos, and that was all Hollow Bastion / Radiant Garden. Squall still sucks though. | |

| Squall/Leon is much more enjoyable than all the FFVII people. Yuffie and Tifa were the only two I could stand of that bunch. | |

| FFVII was a great game. Overrated but Cloud was great in that game. Cloud was pretty much awesome until Advent Children came out.
AND THEN BASTARDIZATION BEGAN!

AND THEN BASTARDIZATION BEGAN! Cloud is still my fave MC from a FF game, and Seph is my fave villain. Advent Children was an enjoyable addition to the series, but I wouldn't ever take it as canon; it contradicts too much.

| -_- Ramza's MY favorite FF character. I'd type out his life story, But I'll leave Wiki to that. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ramza_BeoulveI haven't played many other FF games. But the story in FF:Tactics rules all, IMO. Nothing says epic win like taking all of a legendary group of "Braves" and the "Savior" that is worshipped as The God of the land. And if you really like Sephiroth so much, Then check out Marquis Elmdor. Spitting image much? And, As a bonus. Cloud is thrown into the game as a bonus character you can recruit to your small army of fighters/mages/what-not. It's a bit of a task to get him, And you end up getting other people along the way. But after you get him....It...well, Actually, Cloud isn't really so great in that game. His "Limit Break" skill in that requires for his attacks (Even Omni-Slash) to be charged. -_- It is VERY MUCH recommended that he is given the Quick Charge skill to half the ammount of time that takes. Because sometimes, Charging attacks can mean death....to the charger. oh, And if you get War of The Loins (For the PSP), They add a new class (Dark Knight) and a new recruitable characters (Balthier (FF:XII) & Luso (FF:Tactics A2) ..Whoops, Went into fanboy mode there. Anyhow, My point stands. Ramza is fucking epic win. | |
