Dragon Ball Z Being Re-edited and Re-dubbed for HDTV

A while back on Daiz they discussed about this but people bitched and moan and assumed that the TC of the old topic was lying, now this guy gets a new scan about it and it's for realz. YAY!

I doubt the whole series will be re-drawn(just with minor art edits like that guy is claiming in the thread), the previous topic discussed about only a handful of scenes getting this treatment, but if it's the whole package, then ZOMFG.

It'd be awesome if the re did the whole series, minus filler.

I hope the remade intros and endings won't be done in the style of the special. Although many people liked the coloring and art style of the new special, I hated it. The skin colors being all wonky and retardedly HARD-colored as hell pinkish(and brownish HARD tones for other) skin with pointy line art and such didn't do it for me. Seriously, why didn't they try to use AT's new style, obviously they don't need to use soft-shading like he does these days but god damn would a new DB anime special with his current DRAWING style be orgasmic. That's what they should do for these OP/ED remakes.

The perfect opportunity for FUNi to try again. Which obviously won't happen, because a certain dick is hanging around with his 4Shits friends.

Wow, Kaio just posted exactly what I just thought. I bet Funi will try to lure Schemmel back with cash. He still does Goku in the games.

Fanboys would freak though. Schemmel's Goku is just too embedded in the franchise now. I wouldn't mind it myself if the replacement turned out to be better. If Schemmel leaving didn't completely fuck up season 3 and the latter portion of season 2, I'd be happy. Too bad he had to fuck it up though. I should call him up with an edited version of Christian Bale's rant and tell him off.

Because the fanboys are responsible for half the revenue DBZ rakes in. If they weren't an issue, you think they would have put out a more accurate dub by now. The cell saga script in the new season sets is still crap.

I think they just felt bad for putting out GT with that awful awful dub music. I mean, talk about raping something. Mark Menza should be dragged out to the desert and left there for the buzzards.

Where was the Buu saga script really bad? The Goku vs. Majin Vegeta battle in the dub was far better in the dub because the script was so well written for once. The only real dub lines in the Buu saga script I can remember all have to do with Goku and Kid Buu being stronger than Gohan an Super Buu. Which is really stupid, but it's not as stupid as Krillin being IN DA HOUSSSSSE!!! and crap like that.

Kid Buu was even stronger than Buuhan in the dub. And nothing will ever beat Krillin's earlier "Mondo cool".

Mondo Cool was Freeza saga though. Where Freeza flirted with Goku and his power was 500 thousand times greater than Nail's.

Also wasn't there a line in the subs where Goku said Kid Buu was the strongest opponent he ever fought?

Yeah, but he only refers to "Majin Buu", not any speciic form, and as he says it the anime flashes back through all of Buu's various forms, so it could be taken in a general sense, that Buu was the most powerful opponent, just not that particular form.

FUNi needs to give us this. They did it with BL (where the audio is from), so they NEED to do it with this new version.

Can't believe I missed this. Goku says the line that basically says that Buu is beyond all the Buus that came before when he stood there in SSJ2. Then Goku goes SSJ3 and fights the canon battle. I could go and check since I still have the DVD around somewhere. There were no flashbacks of the previous Buus at that point. In the dub there, Goku is saying that "You're twice as strong as you were before. Your speed, your power." I took that as Goku saying that Kid Buu was twice as strong as he was when the fight started so Goku had to go to SSJ3.

You know, in a way, half of that SSJ2 fight was canon considering they borrowed a handful of fighting panels such as those ground-kicks from Boo while Goku's flipping away from them and such.

Kid Buu's faster, I give him credit there, but impossible that he's stronger. I can't wait for this re-made DBZ, stuff will make so much more sense.
