I tried the gbc/gba, Snes, Mame and megadrive emulators for the old games. Right now only the popsloader for PS1 games since most of them (old games) they made gamecollections in umd.
If your PSP is old(no warranty) you should try customized firmware..

My PSP is the old fat model, but I can't really be bothered with all that. At least for the PSP. I use my laptop for all that stuff.

Well then yes, you can do a hell of a lot with a PSP, providing it's an older model with an old firmware.

Firmware? It's the software version the PSP is using. Mine is currently using 5.01 I think. When I bought it it was running on 1.50. The earlier firmwares has very few security measures, so it's much easier to run unnofficial programs on it, such as homebrew emulators and games.

You can still install homebrew on the newer ones. I think that you could install 5.01 if not then I'm sure you could on the 4 series.

Don't you need to downgrade the firmware first?

I heard that if you downgrade it, you brick the system. I know there are ways to get through all of it though. You can also put homebrew on a Slim. The new 3000 series is the only one you can't do it with because of the new motherboard.

yeah i've heard people mention this business before

I'll just stick with using the laptop for emulators and such. I get enough playtime out of the PSP anyway.
