| Mostly sandbox games like Prototype & AC2, or platformers like Metal Gear Solid Does Resident Evil 4 count? It's more action/adventure than it's horror, my No. 1 game | |

| I'm pretty liberal with what can be considered a platformer these days, but there is no way you can consider MGS one of them.
Sonic Adventure 2 is a great choice, way over due to be on PSN but I think it is more of a platformer. As far as action/adventure I'd say it's a toss up between GoW series and the DMC series. I love the combat in DMC a lot more but GoW is just fucking awesome.

It's a lot of platforming but (at least the first one) it's still Action/Adventure by nature. The first one more than the second. Sonic's gameplay is less platforming as most of it is running but with the rest of them it has a lot more platforming.

| It's a platforming game. Do you get around all of the levels by jumping onto platforms and by navigating through linear levels? Yes? It is a platformer. It may have little areas where you hit things but that doesn't make it an action game, it's more of an adventure and even adventure games are defined by their own conventions. | |

| I gotta agree with Baal here, anyway you slice it the game is a platformer first and foremost. It does have adventure qualities but then again you can say that about any game with a plot. | |

Which is why I said adventure. It's definitely heavy platforming but also heavy adventure too.
