| If it is the first game you want to play, you could always just play Alter Code F. That is a PS2 remake of the original. | |

Yes. Lots of extra sidequests, remixed music and better graphics and whatnot. Also in the original you only had 3 party members: Rudy, Jack and Cecilia. In the remake there are 8 playable characters, 6 of them are permanent although only Rudy, Jack and Cecilia are mandatory. The other 3 are optional. The remake also uses the Wild Arms 3 engine albeit an improved form of it so it plays similar to Wild Arms 3 in many ways. I should warn you though, the game is a dual layered game. If your PS2 isn't NTSC and you plan to import it then you will need a modchip that supports Dual Layered DVD games. Swap Magic doesn't support it unfortunately.

| Wild Arms 5.... I completely dislike in almost every way. Wild Arms 4 and 5 are certainly the low points of the series. | |

So, would they make good starting points into the series, then?

| Not... really. The gameplay in both games are completely different than Wild Arms 1 - 3 and ACF, the style is completely different from the other games and the story and characters are so godawful in both games that it can be offputing.
I'd stick to Wild Arms 1, 2, 3, ACF and XF (which is a PSP SRPG) if I were you.
