Pokemon

I can't believe that there's no topic for this series. Don't tell me that I'm the only one here that plays it...

Anyway, this is my favorite game series. The games (and by that, I mean the main RPG series) are pretty addictive.

Diamond (and Pearl) may very well be the best game in the series, and Platinum is already looking to improve on all of that.

It's okay.

It's not perfect, but it's okay.

It just gets redundant after awhile.

I only played Red, Blue and Yellow. I enjoyed them well enough.

i've had the newest one for a year, haven't beat it, and kinda regret buyin it.....

If the DS Pokemon games had all four islands explorable, I'd be more inclined to buy it.

You can say G/S/C spoiled me good, but I got a bit mad when R/S/E weren't as...oomphing. Really, Pokemon Contests are meh.

Actually, GSC having both Johto and Kanto ruined Johto. Because of the extra data needed for Kanto, Johto wasn't as fleshed out as it was supposed to be. Not only that, but the Kanto in GSC was just a former shell of itself.

None, actually. Not without trading between generations or hacking.

In RBY, you couldn't get Mew without going to a Nintendo event or hacking (or doing the Mew glitch)

In GSC, you couldn't get any of the previous starters or Legendaries without trading from those games. Plus, Celebi had to be gotten from a Nintendo event or hacked.

Ruby and Sapphire really fucked things up. 184 of the previous Pokemon were not accessable at all without hacking. Pokemon Colosseum brought back some of the Johto Pokemon for it, and Fire Red and Leaf Green (remakes of Red and Blue/Green) brought back nearly all of the missing Pokemon. But even after all of this, Jirachi, Deoxys, Mew, and Celebi were not available at all without hacking or the Nintendo event.

D/P did it best. Nearly all of the Pokemon are available between the two games in one form or another, though most of the time, it's easier to transfer them over from the GBA games. However, the previous starters and Legendaries are not available at all without transfering, and neitehr are Tropius or Tangela for some strange reason. Also, you need Pokemon Ranger to get Manaphy (and Phione), and you need to hack or go to a Nintendo event to get Shaymin, Darkrai, and Arceus.

Pokemon Colosseum and X-D had decent stories and potential, but they fell flat because Genius Sonority doesn't know what they're doing.

Pokemon Battle Revolution promised something like that, but Genius Sonority fucked that up, too.

So many people would copy one another for a race to Ash or a main character, then other popular animes

Probably, but it would still be cool nonetheless. I think a console Pokemon RPG with a customizable trainer and real-time battles would be fantastic. Maybe online play, to travel with your friends.
