| Indie game going for novelty value and to get free publicity.
The game costs more than the console.

The game costs more than the console. Well yeah, especially if you're like me and it costs like, nine dollars more? Than when I got my NES back about four, almost five years ago at a hobby store. I'm willing to say, if you have the dough, then shell some out for it. Personally, I'm interested since a lot of Indie titles are NES-style; you have Shovel Knight, Volgarr the Viking, Breath of Death VII, Cthulhu Saves the World, etc. that look like they fit perfectly on old school systems. I think it's nice to see that this idea kinda capitalizes on that, though, no?

| I thought the same at first then I remembered NES style graphics look better than NES graphics, as Shovel Knight looks nicer than a NES game (and thats one of the ones really pushing for the NES look), add in the fact that you're paying full retail for an indie game for the inconvenience to play this on a system i'd be suprised if anyone still has it connected and you're better off waiting for the inevitable PC port.
Doing this for a SNES game would be cooler as SNES actually had a rich range of colours and 2D games on that in some cases still look pretty damn sexy.

| While that's true for some people, my case being somewhat exempt due to the above aside with my owning an actual NES, and still having it around; I can still see the PC port that could happen very well, giving this already interesting, currently novelty thing a bit more love. Add on that I was never much of a PC guy. So this is nice for me because of that "vintage", in-console feel of getting a hard copy. So I'd say "different strokes" for this subject, all considered. I always feel "disjointed" in a way, from playing games or watching movies on a computer because I see my other options on there, like writing, reading, etc. that distracts me a bit, haha. - Superbuu3 wrote:

Fuck yes, I'd buy this sooner. Add on the versatility of the SNES and its tech vs the NES and its capabilities.

I have all my old consoles connected, and I play them and even buy games for them still. I'd get this if it interested me. (hence why backwards compatibily will never be an issue for me, but that's another discussion)

Pretty much this sums up my thoughts above, that and some of the ones I have are in mothballs admittedly.
