| A few initial observations about the PS4 itself and how it compares to the XO;
* The homepage menu is a bit of a mess. The PS3 menu was a bit bland but it was easy to read. XO's is a bit of a faff to navigate with a controller as well, but scores a definite advantage with Kinect's voice commands. * It's quite loud when running. Not as loud as my dear departed 60GB PS3, but certainly louder than my slim PS3 and especially when compared to the XO, which is utterly silent at all times. * I really like the DualShock 4, it feels like a huge step up over the DS3 which was itself a fairly tired evolution of the original PS controller. The little speaker included in the controller (which I didn't know about until yesterday) is a very cool little feature as well. That said, I think I do still prefer the XO controller, for now at least, largely because I favour the offset analogue sticks. * The lights on top of the console and the controller are a nice touch. I'm a sucker for that kind of superfluous guff.

Are you another one with jeremy beadle hands then? you can get stickers for the control pad to give them little perks like the bat signal or autobots/decepticons etclink for some stickers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/141418620737?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108

Boo! The XO gives you the choice to pin them to your homepage or not, and of course you can just use voice commands to instantly navigate - even if you're in the middle of another game. Surely there's a way to remove games once you're done with them? - Quote :

No, I just find my thumbs fall quite naturally in the Xbox style sticks rather than the PS style ones. My hands are pretty much average, I'd wager. - Quote :

link for some stickers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/141418620737?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108 I'll check that out later. Incidentally, the package I bought came with Destiny, Fifa 15 and The Last of Us Remastered, though the latter was via digital download code. I'm thinking I'll sell Fifa and TLoU, hopefully recoup around £55 for the pair, which will mean I've paid £345 for a brand new PS4 with Destiny and Shadow of Mordor. Pretty good deal I thought.

| For what it's worth you can use voice commands on the XMB (I don't know if it's still called this) too, it's just not communicated unless the system detects a microphone. | |

| you can delete them aswell, its just when you have a few games you play they kinda go in order but then if you use the stream service or music unlimited etc they get in the line aswell so it becomes a mess | |

| Yeah, I really don't like the UI very much. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but the PS3 one was visually more plain but far easier to navigate. It'll be interesting to see how long a fully charged controller lasts for; the PS3 Dual Shock 3 would usually go for around 10-12 hours, but PS4s funky lights and in-built speaker will likely have some detrimental effect on the charge. Or do they? How long should I expect? | |

| I'd say 5-6 hours.
I've had plenty of testing when playing Destiny with Neo and some other friend. I'd usually start with a full battery and we'd play all afternoon and part of the evening and I'd have to change controllers by the end.
also, the notification for "your battery is running low" tends to come up quite early i've noticed, I feel like after it pops up, it still has about an hour of juice in it. It's not like you have to worry about changing any minute.
