| EDIT: Be wary of dodgy translations some skills don't do whats advertised or do more, I'l try my best to notice these. Just going to put my skills of choice for the characters I've done, this is pointers I'm not saying its the best build. I think everyone needs 1 point in evasion. I'll list what I consider essential skills so people have got leeway on their builds (only fighter doesn't seem to have options as he doesn't have to rely on a single attack for damage): Fighter:- Spoiler:
Cover Allies - allows you to shield an area around you, then buffs you on top of that Cyclone Masher - allows you to air juggle like crazy Tempest - allows your melee on ground to geta rush attack added with huge knockback Reflex Guard - autoblock Distraction - lure enemies to you and damage boost (sacrifice could be switched with this or both) Vitality and Evasion (I think deep pockets makes sense, but whatever you can make work) Wizard:- Spoiler:
(pick 3/4 spells and stick with those I went blaze and flame burst, which i'll switch out for extinction on infernal difficulty) Spirit Up - Max MP Slow - Best spell in game Meteor - Huge AoE and super powerful (may struggle if soloing) Deep pockets- max it more spells or staffs you need this Other MP regaining skills, choose what you think suits your style of play, the skill about magic shot gives you more MP when you hit a character with a melee attack.
Dwarf:- Spoiler:
Pick a focus, if you're spamming circle (grand slam I think 1 point is a given in it as it gives you lightning attacks) boost that and bare hands boost, i'm going for a basic thing and you can add in whatever Powerbomb: makes throws more powerfuo and the impact damage up to Frenzy: Deserves activation, i'll probably max this it seems to be the same as tempest for the fighter. Magma infusion: gives all attacks fire damage (its like a spell) Powder mastery: boosts all fire and explosive damage Flame barrel or bomb satchel: (I think its best to pick one or the other, could make both work, but htat would be a bad idea if guying bare fisted as you'd run out of points i think, i don't think additional points buff damage only number of uses, plausible to have one in both i guess and just do whatever) Eagle dive: level 2 gives you bombs if you press jump three times (given powder mastery I think this is a no brainer) Rock Skin: up to level 2 you will be using pump up for damage so its worth it Toughness: I would max this (i heard it nulls low damage attacks) Vitality: up to 5 i guess
Avoid trinket mastery, it only works for spoils its really really crap, wealth to health is better, I thought it was a better version of wealth to health it is not. Elf:- Spoiler:
Power shot, Impact arrow, Spacious Quiver: max, there is no debate on this one Clone shot: at least level 2 (I'll likely max this) Deadly boots + Elemental Lore/holdout daggers + backstab (Some other combo): Your call which hold out daggers will likely also need maintenance to make it feasible Salamander Oil/Toxic: 1 point in each at least, I'm going to max Oil, its your call Battle hardened: a couple of point, stop knockback on power shots Evade: Essential you want to fly around in air and be able to hail down arrows this helps massively
Do not use Rapid shot its crap Sorceress:- Spoiler:
She can be played a bunch of ways, I think protection is a given as is deep pockets, Thunderhead seems really crap thats all I can say, just don't put points in too many different skills or its a waste of points. If you want to max Boulder Press, you'll need i think 2 points in eiher blizzard or thunderhead. Deep Pockets: essential Also I'll add her Ice staffs seem to buff ice damage, so this might be an elementa worth sticking with. Simian's given a nice detailed list of stuff on sorceress: - SimianWonder wrote:
- General stuff;
Dash attack can send enemies flying, creating valuable breathing space, and levitate (which is more of an air dash than levitation) is an excellent skill for getting out of harms way quickly, with the added bonus of adding up to +50% to any damage you do in the air. Ice staves generally output the lowest damage of the three types, but have arguably the highest utility. All ice attacks can freeze enemies. The ice tornado (Up+O) can reflect ranged and fireball attacks (arrows, thrown daggers, and allegedly even some boss attacks). She also has the infamous "snowflake" technique, (when airborne, charged O, or up+O) which fires a slow moving single projectile that splinters when it hits something. Against bosses a single flake can hit seven times, and they can be spammed up to six times per jump, mana points allowing. This inflicts major damage, though will likely need the sorceress to recharge after every salvo. Fire staves have the highest damage output, and can set foes ablaze, doing damage-over-time. They can also be used to instantly destroy slime creatures and ghosts (who are immune to any other attack) without the need for a torch, though it's worth noting fire attacks will not work in water areas, they simply fizzle into steam. Lightning staves do medium damage, but have great range. A charged standing O shot will cover the entire horizontal plane, and a jumping charged O will cover a large vertical area, in addition to having very high knockdown chance, even if the damage is less than the other elemental equivalents. The down+O attack, rather than forming a defensive ring like the fire/ice staves, shoots a blast across the floor. This blast will stun 95% of monsters in the game, only aerial foes and some bosses being immune, so it's a great team skill; sorceress stuns, fighters etc finish off targets unable to fight back. Specific skills Protection - Forms a defensive bubble around all members of the part, negating up to 50% damage. Essential. Create food - Silly name it may be, but this is another of the Sorceress' trademarks, conjuring food from mid-air and allowing the party to heal. Starts off weak, but at higher levels can but used up to nine times per bag, with high quality ingredients ensuring that a single conjuring should be enough to max out the party's health. Essential. Gravity - Creates a vortex on the ground that draws enemies to it whilst inflicting minor damage-over-time. Not very damaging, but does group enemies together and prevent them from moving, so works well with another wizard or sorceress in the party who can nuke the whole group with a single hit. Ice Prison - Creates a wall than enemies cannot advance past, and damages them if they do. Also prevents ranged attacks from reaching you. Great against large mobs, less so against bosses. Handy in a pinch, though you're unlikely to take both this and Gravity as they do similar things, so pick one and stick with it. Thunderhead - Summons a small storm cloud that hovers over head and intermittently electrocutes enemies. Does decent damage but the frequency of its attacks are quite low, though at higher levels it does improve considerably. A good skill if you're on the offensive as you can cast it and forget about it, attacking at your whim whilst it deals additional damage at periodic intervals. That said, given the limited bag size and large list of skills available, I don't think this is one of your priorities. Rock Crush - Drops a huge boulder on the screen, damaging enemies. The shockwave will also stun any enemies in range. Starts off useful, but the damage output isn't high enough at later levels, and whilst the stun effect is useful, you can do just the same with any lightning stave, and it doesn't always land where you'd think it should, meaning it can miss even large foes on occasions. You'll likely need at least two points in it to unlock... Blizzard - Causes a whole-screen ice attack that lasts several seconds, doing moderate-to-heavy damage and freezing enemies. One of my favourites, and the best of the three area-of-effect damage spells the sorceress has access to. Animate skeleton - Causes the piles of bones scattered around to come to life and fight for you, and you can summon up to four at any one time. Early game they're strong enough to genuinely help, but later on they simply die too quickly. Also means you won't be able to resurrect or bury the bones at the temple when you get back to town. Kind of a waste in my opinion. Curse - Turns enemies into frogs. Your enemies are completely vulnerable whilst in frog-form, however there are some drawbacks; it doesn't work on any elite type enemies, statues or bosses, and in frog-form your enemies are quite small and actually harder to hit than normal. Petrify - Much like the rune curse, this petrifies the screen. However, there's both a charge up time to cast as well as a slight delay between casting it and the petrification taking hold. Some enemies are completely immune to its effects as well. Better than Curse, but by no means essential. Common skills
Extract - Basic square button attack absorbs mana. Pretty much essential. Concentrate - Speeds up charge rate of mana. Again, essential. Spirit Up - Gives a larger pool of mana to draw upon. Once more, this is an essential. Deep Pockets - Increases the number of items per bag, so you can carry more spells, a spare staff (fire and ice sync well, covering all bases) or simply equip something else to give you better defence. Not immediately available due to level requirements, but you'll want to pick these up as soon as possible. Mental Absorb - Killing enemies recharges some mana. The mana gains are quite small, and as a sorceress is unlikely to be on the front line dealing damage, this is a useful utility skill, but not essential.

I think you're the only one who doesn't seem to like it. I think people will find this helpful, well if they don't I won't add to it. | |

| Obviously I've got a fair bit of experience with Sorceress, so if you want any feedback on some of her nuances let me know, I can PM you and you can update the first post. | |
