-Only 1 ninpo for story mode -Only katanas for story mode -Other weapons will be DLC -8 player team deathmatch online -Online pass -QTEs happen mid battle almost at random
On the plus side though, co-op is back and it still looks kind of good.

Uh i might get it but honestly i'm not getting this anytime soon. If after it has a price drop your still interested in this i might be up for ti though.
Oh, and Hayashi has expressed interest in doing a Sigma version too. If that happens I guess it would coincide with the WiiU version which apparently will have extra content.

It doesn't look like a button masher any more either that or this guy is that damn fast. Also the gameplay looks faster then 2. My only concern is the weapons.
Yeah, sometimes the button prompt appears and other times it doesn't. My guess is that when it happens unexpectedly mid-combo the player is already pressing buttons ahead of time so it goes through immediately. There are still Obliteration Techniques as well.
I'm going to wait to see if the other weapons show up as DLC.

i'm pretty sure a sigma version was hinted at, TBH i'll probably wait for that if it means it comes with all the DLC weapons. Either that or price drop, no way am i buying this at full price when it all seems a bit up in the air.

Holy shit. There's a boss fight with a T-Rex, and (I'm not kidding) you just dodge it while it runs around not concentrating on you at all. Every 10 seconds or so it knocks itself out by smacking it's head on the floor for no reason, and then you attack it. It's the dumbest thing. It can do massive damage if it manages to bite you, but avoiding it looks easy. After that it turns into a Crash Bandicoot game and the dinosaur chases you down a corridor.

Just to confirm we agree that fighting T-rexes is awesome right?

You don't fight it. You wait until it falls over.

Also, from what players are saying, SoB is truly random.

This guy is going through Hard mode and he knows what he's doing. He's got quite a lot of helpful NGS2 videos as well. So far noteworthy things are;
Guillotine Throw has been removed. Ryu has a longer recovery time after his attacks and dashes. Ninpo doesn't always fully heal you. This has the same temporary and permanent damage system that NGS2 has, and ninpo heals all temporary damage and a bit of permanent damage. If you don't use ninpo, whatever ki you have left over after a battle is automatically used to heal you anyway, so you can't save up a ninpo to use it immediately in the next fight.

I played the shit out of Ninja Gaiden 2 back when I had a 360 and I'd get this if it didn't have such an excessive amount of QTEs.
I don't particularly have anything against QTEs but when about 90% of a game consists of them I'll politely decline.

It's not that bad. This isn't Asura's Wrath or anything.

It might as well be from what I've seen.
I generally try to avoid judging games before trying them out but it's hard this time for some reason. Might rent it at some point just to try it out though.
This game looks fucking incredible when played well. That guy has seriously got the game down. Shuriken stagger, extending ariel combos with the bow and OL360T to another launch, great use of OTs to take advantage of the invincibility frames, and most importantly, mastering Steel on Bone. Triggering it on purpose and chaining it on purpose. Every SoB you see in that video is deliberate. All that means he doesn't have to rely on the easier tactics like constant FS and Izuna Drops. It's making me want the game.
That's all on Master Ninja mode as well by the way. Insane.

It seems like the claws were introduced to the PS3 version in a free patch today, but only for story mode. To use them in MP or trials, you have to buy them. And there's no chapter select for story mode either.
Got the demo. No sir, I don't like it. Ryu has some long ass recovery times after moves which makes the controls feel unresponsive. There's way too much auto-targeting too, with Ryu suddenly breaking combo on one guy to OT another guy a couple feet away. Both sqaure and triangle OT now as well, and they blend seamlessly into combos. Which means most OTs will happen unexpectedly and throw you off a bit. Plus it's harder to tell when enemies can be OT'd now because the visual clue isn't nearly as noticeable. Steel on Bone I actually don't mind but it's not a great addition.
There's really weird framerate problems although that might just be the demo. Overall it feels messy and imprecise, which is terrible for Ninja Gaiden.
News and footage of Razor's Edge (the WiiU version) is coming in and it looks like they chucked back in everything that was stupidly taken out. NG2's dismemberment system is back, there's a leveling system, upgrades to buy, more than one weapon, and so on.
