I honestly don't care for a new generation, i' hoping it doesn't come till 2015 (although thats highly unlikely), that said an announcement wouldn't be unsuprising at this point, I would've expected that at E3 though, but maybe they need to make share prices go up or something, before the fiscal year ends.

yeah, it's not like I need a new generation console already, I'm still happy with this one... but I'm kind of a tech geek (not that I have much knowledge about it) and I can't help but get excited about things like this.

Can't be PS4, there is no preorders and no publicity stunts for it, Sony would be stupid to drop that without massive warnings

A lot of people think there's no need for the nex gen just yet, and while I'm quite content with my PS3 and 360, I'd also be stoked to see what a next gen machine could do. Of course, early doors most games tend to be familiar in terms of gameplay just dressed with much prettier graphics, which is fine, but I hope the new Xbox and PS4 will try to innovate a little more than that.

Personally, I'd welcome a relatively humble leap over the current gen if it meant we could have stable frame rates. Far Cry 3 looked great, but the frame rate was a bit hit and miss. If the next gen were to only pump up the visuals by between 20-30% yet also offering a rock solid 60fps I'd be a very happy monkey.

Even if they revealed it they wouldn't need to realease the console for over a year. Wii U was unveiled a year and a half before release. Its been hinted we'd get solid information on the console at E3 which is in the summer. So teasers now wouldn't be completely suprising

Yeah, they wouldn't release it yet, but showing the first glimpses of it publicly is completely plausible.

yeah, i know, a rumor, bit apparently from the mouth of a reliable source in the industry. would be a very ballsy move if it was true. and revealing it in February would make sense then.

If they release a console in November then they must have that thing all good to go.

They've now got this on the main site. Rumor has it that it will be PS4, but then again it's Kotaku so it's not exactly reliable.

I'm hoping for PS2 support for the Vita and more PS2 games on PSN.

There is never going to be PS2 support for the Vita.

The best the Vita can hope for is absolute remote play compatibility with the PS4.

It's clearly just a small touchpad a la Vita. Possibly another area on the back of the controller. Nothing special, really.

well, if it's like the Vita it might be kinda fun..haven't tried a vita yet, so I'm not sure if it's really worth something.

It's not gonna be kinda fun, almost every game on the Vita has really stupid forced touch mechanics that don't add anything to the game and even hinder it sometimes.

ah well, we'll see in 2 days.


I really can't help but get excited about it, hope it's gonna be a good show with good games and no bullcrap about other stuff that doesn't matter. it should be PS4 from start to end.
