| I rarely do unless i find a bargain bin deal. Anything i've bought in store in the last couple of years would've been around 5 pounds and games are almost never that price. | |

| Well I can't now unless I go out of town. Or go to Argos, but who the hell buys games at Argos? I used to browse in GAME though whenever I went to town, just to pass the time. If I saw something I wanted I'd usually just order it online when I got home. | |

| I usually just buy online due to better pricing. Although I haven't bought a retail game in months | |

| Nope, can't afford to buy games in stores, still maintain my alcoholism, and have money left; the prices are ridiculous. | |

| I try to buy new if it's like, $40 or lower. Because I don't trust other people to turn in a game not scratched to hell and back. -_- | |

Honestly there's never been a preorder or a deal in store that i've seen that hasn't been beaten by someone online.

| Once you start buying online you can't go back to a store without scoffing at prices. | |

| The only thing that keeps me from buying online even though I should is import taxes. If you import a non-book for more than £20 you have to pay taxes, which I hate, because the post office will likely retain it and claim a "retaining fee". | |

I have to say it depends on the store and store manager after all its their call (both chain and non chain) - Lord Skip wrote:

Well thats not always the case you could find you're self laughing at how much some of the websites or all of them are for the amount they are charging for a game and the store could have it cheaper my prime example would be KOF 13 i saw it in a store for £20 new and online was £30-40 new but thats a pretty weak example i know, but an example nonetheless. - Kaede wrote:

It's a bunch of shit. Basically, they'll hold it for you, mostly if you need to pay tax, sometimes not, and they'll charge you something like £10 (which is usually half or a third of what the item itself cost) for the trouble, sometimes even more. This also often happens when the parcel is supposed to be delivered to my door. That's why I just mostly order books online. No hassle.

| Not for years. The prices in shops are a lot higher than online, last time I wondered into GAME it was quite a shocking experience. GAME are evil anyway. | |

| In Paris I only bought games online, but they had tons of retro game stores with all kinds of consoles, old games and imports. Must get back there. | |

| I get almost all my games from Best Buy, either on their website or online. But I've been a rewards zone member forever so I get discounts and stuff if I buy from them online. Plus They send me gift cards all the time.
If it's a game I'm in no rush to play I just wait for a price drop in store. I think I've only bought a used game two or three times lifetime. Used games = Less money for good game Devs to make good games.

GAME got liquidated down in Aus, only place we go is EB Games But it's kinda sad, because my local game, they had heaps of retro games and I still have my N64, so it was nice to go in occasionally and browse their collection. They even had a NES for sale once. not the best condition, but still a NES. I should have bought it now that I think about it I hate to imagine how expensive GAME must have been in down under land. Games cost crazy amounts there as it is. I don't really know how expensive the stuff at GAME was, 'cos I only go to EB, but I did get a good deal on my PS3 there. I think it was $280 or some shit, plus one game of choice. That sale was about a week before they liquidated, so I probably got lucky - Skip wrote:

JB is great, everything is super cheap Too bad the nearest store is about an hour away

| It's a mix up, I'll buy newer stuff from Gamestop, I might go in and buy some used stuff if there's deals, then I'll buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and now that I've been more actively using Steam and Online stores, I'm also getting stuff digitally.
So yeah I buy a lot of different ways.

| If I see a good deal and I have the pocket money, then I'd pick up a game. Sure. | |
