Well, when you put it that way, you're pretty much describing 90% of anime. But yes, that is the gist of it. There are also fancy red motorcycles and titties.

After weeks of hearing about the likes of Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund being up for lead roles in the live-action Akira movie, Warner Bros. is now reportedly looking to cast an actual Japanese actor in their adaptation of the anime classic.
Twitch claims that Gary Oldman has passed on playing the role of The Colonel in the Jaume Collet-Serra-directed film, so now Warners has offered the role to Oldman's Batman Begins co-star, Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (Inception, The Last Samurai). No word yet on whether Watanabe has accepted the part.
Akira is slated to begin filming in early 2012.
