Hey where's Ant-Man, the Skrulls and Thanos? It's not a real Avengers movie without all of those things, in that order.

This is gonna be awesome I think. Although I wonder if there will be a villain that will actually be able to stand up to Thor legitimately. Because this is the time before he gets like extremely broken to the point where he can stand up to Sentry.

I thought Loki was gonna be the villain, or one of the villains..

He will be one of them, but Thor outclasses him in fighting.

Loki's talent has always been his cunning, though as he showed in Thor, he's a capable fighter in his own right, and is likely physically stronger than all the Avengers bar Thor and Hulk, despite his less-than-intimidating physical stature.

Wasn't one of the rumoured plot points about the Avengers having to fight together to beat an out-of-control Hulk? Thor certainly wouldn't be able to stand toe-to-toe with Hulk on his own, not for long at least.

Depends on how strong they made Hulk. In the 08 film, he wasn't that much stronger than a super soldier iirc. That's a little higher than Captain America's strength level and Thor is a lot stronger than that. Once he gains the Odinforce, he obliterates Hulk in power for a long time while he's building power.

Most of the early exchanges he wasn't that angry. Still, even when not royally pissed off, he took down Blonsky, who'd already taken the Super Soldier serum remember, with a single kick, a kick so hard he shattered every bone in his body. Contrast that to the fight between Cap and Red Skull, who were trading blows without doing significant damage... that alone puts Hulk a fair way above Red Skull or Cap in raw strength.

Not to mention that later he ripped a car in half, and was still overpowered by Abomination. Five minutes later, now sufficiently angered, Hulk easily overpowered A-bomb, beating him easily. Cap may be pretty strong, but even a relatively calm Hulk is much, much stronger.

Yeah, Thor had a pretty good showing, but we never saw Hulk really going all out simply because he never needed to. Even Abomination was trivial for him after one rage induced power up. Without wanting to turn this into a comic nerd debate, movie Thor would likely be stronger than Hulk's passive state... thing is, if Hulk is going to be a villain, I'd put money on Loki tricking him, meaning a hypothetical bad-guy Hulk is going to massivey pissed off and hence stronger and more resilient than Thor. Hulk is the only other being I can recall having the physical power to lift Mjolnir, even when it is supposed to be impossible to do so.

That would be the ideal situation to keep both sides more balanced. Should be a great movie.

Isn't A-bomb someone different like rick jones or something?
