| Is this movie worth watching? I've never been a big fan of GL or into at all really. Would this movie be enjoyable for a newbie to GL such as myself? | |

| Aren't these movies always configured so that they draw in casual moviegoers? | |

| Yeah pretty much, that's why I like them so much. I'll usually watch the movie and that will inspire me to go read some comics about that character... I should do it the other way around but that might take away from the movie for me. | |

| The biggest complaint from GL fans is seems to be that the Corps had so little to do. Which is true to be fair. There's a 10 second scene where some of them fight Parallax and lose, and that's about it. | |

| I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. Perhaps that was partly because reviews had been awful, and I was expecting it to be horrible, but it wasn't really too far behind Thor. | |

| What I don't get is why the fuck Sinestro put on the yellow ring? What was the purpouse after Parralax was stopped?
Anyway I think the movie was alright, didn't really expand upon the GL's enough in my opinion. I think the sequel might be good, gonna focus on the Sinestro Corps I guess. Wonder how famous a GL Hal is gonna get.
I personally wanna see John, and Kyle Rayner, and wonder if they'll deal with Ion?

| I really liked this. It also felt like they were setting up Sinestro for a big sequel, honestly gutted this won't ever get a sequel. IMO much better then all the Marvel Studio movies bar Avengers, Iron Man 1 and Winter Soldier. Not really sure where it sits compared to the last 2, but I enjoyed it as much as them. I also think they handled the mythology well, seeing as I didn't really know much about Green Lantern I feel like I walked away from the movie getting the general idea and not having any questions to ask. That first blurb at the beginning had me worried, but they go over those things again in the movie in passing conversations so you remember it. - Spoiler:
Sinestro also appeared to me to be one of the more intersting DC villains even though I don't know much about him I'd like to see how his character turns out.

shame, I really liked it too, one of the few DC movies I really cared for. They pretty much said it when they stated that the man of steel was beginning of a new continuity for all DC characters. Unless they decide to go back on that decision.

| why the fuck did they even bother with that Sinistro teaser then...
unless at that point, they were still thinking of doing a sequel which probably was the case

unless at that point, they were still thinking of doing a sequel which probably was the case Yeah they were expecting a sequel unfortunately it didn't do so well. Currently there's a rumour that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is going to play John Stewart (a green lantern) in the upcoming batm vs superman.
