| Posting my thoughts here while going through all the X-Men comics (I'm currently at pack 2 out of 24 and I've been reading for a month).
Stan Lee's stuff was prettt awful.
Chris Clairmont's stuff is great, especially considering the time it was written in.
I was a bit dissappointed in the Dark Phoenix saga. Jean's slow corruption was done really well, but once she stopped being the Black Queen and actually became Dark Phoenix, it became boring. The final chapter of the saga was good though.
Days of Future Past has become dated in the past 30 years, but still enjoyable.
Kitty's Pirate Adventure was simply amazing.
The Dazzler comic is boring. Don't really care much about her character and I'm mostly skimming her comic.
The line-up as of Uncanny X-Men as of issue 154 consists of Cyclops/Storm/Wolverine/Sprite/Colossus/Nightcrawler.

| Rogue looks weird as hell when she's first introduced.
The Brood storyline is really, really good.

| I always liked nightcrawler and gambit, i think the movies and stuff completely put me off wolverine and the fact he can't be killed those kinda characters are lame.
I'm not that familiar with dazzler but i always got the impression she did fuck all but i think quite a few people actually like her.
What was Rogue's original appearance like?
Not knowing much about the stories I was more interested in the appearance of phoenix rather then the dark phoenix bit, but maybe thats just me.

I haven't seen Gambit years (I'm only at publication year 1982), but Nightcrawler is great. I don't mind the fact that Wolverine can't be killed, since even if you die in these comics, you're gonna come back anyway. And I loved movie Wolverine, so that helps too. - Quote :

Dazzler is just a stupid character who wants to be a popstar and not use her powers, except for a show. Even then, her shiny light powers are completely harmless. Her comic is basically a slice of life. - Quote :

Phoenix was overall a character who was way too overpowered and kind of detrimental to the story, because she was a walking DEM who had to be neutered every other chapter so that she wouldn't stomp over enemies.

| I hope she starts looking more like the contemporary Rogue soon, because the pissed off granny look is creepy. New Mutants spin-off just started, which is pretty boring and Xavier immediately places Kitty in that team. - Spoiler:
Indeed. | |

| So Rogue switches sides and her features noticeable soften. She also has a design change about 20 or so issues after she joins.
Uncanny X-Men continues to have great and engrossing plots, while New Mutants is still boring. Too bad there's been more crossovers between the two lately. Now I'm forced to pay attention.
Wolverine and Kitty Pryde was a great miniseries. I think it would be a terrific base for Aronofsky's Wolverine movie. It takes place in Japan, both main characters go through significant development, there's corruption of innocence and a lot of focus on the Japanese backdrop. Everything you'd want in a superhero movie and an Aronofsky movie.
I'm probably just grasping at straws though because I want a Hugh Jackman/Ellen Page movie.

| Also, Secret Wars was boring and Spider-Man owning all the X-Men at the same time (Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Xavier, Storm and Nightcrawler) was dumb. | |

| Even though he can? He's Spider-Man. That's like complaining about Superman owning every member of the Justice League at once. Besides, they were written as barely anything more than base level humans back then and had the disadvantage in how well they could move. | |

| Rogue had the power of Ms. Marvel, Wolverin and Xavier wouldn't have let themselves been ambushed, the team is incredibly effective when together etc.
Spidey wasn't even taking them seriously.

| Sneaking up on them was BS, clowning around on them for a while and still not really winning in the end wasn't. He fights organized groups of supervillains like Sinister Six that have studied his fighting style and he still makes asses out of them because that's him. | |

| And while we're on the subject of X-Men, there's currently a porn film being made for it. This is good. | |

| So Jean Grey is revived (I know right?) and together with the other original X-Men she starts X-Factor. Let's hope these adventures are more interesting than their original ones. | |
