| IGN seems to love this. The fact it takes twenty to thirty hours to complete has made me vaguely interested. I just hope there's a lot to do. | |

| I played it and it's literally Borderlands with zombies. The inventory is the same, the talent system is the same, the weapon types are the same (toxic, electric, fire), you move around the world the same way, the quests are all in the same vein (99% fetch quests + a few unique story ones) etc etc etc...
So if you liked Borderlands and feel like playing an extended version of the zombie DLC you'll probably like Dead Island. If not, don't buy it.

| so your basically saying it's just as good as Borderlands then?
anyways, I'm sure loving it, been playing more of Resistance 3 though, since that's what I wanted the most. but I finished the story now, so I can concentrate more on this.

| i might pick it up later. I mean borderlands was decent but tht was cause it was the first game like that in retrospect it was pretty bland. Does it have a levelling system, I ask becase personally i think thats a bad thing that i can only use a gun if i'm high enough level seems dumb or my gun does more damage as i'm higher level.
If this had local coop i would definitely have picked it up. Guess this will go on the maybe pile.

That's one way of saying it. Another way would be saying that if you've already played Borderlands there's no point in wasting your money on Dead Island because you've already got everything it has to offer out of something else.

It's exactly the same as Borderlands.

| well, ok, I agree on that, but in the end it does seem to turn out better than most people would've guessed it would be.. | |

| Awww man I could make this game awesome if i was in on the creative process. If it was the step beyond borderlands i'd be interested. Tha game had a few things right but a bunch of things wrong. Thing is the basic ideas in it that annoyed will really grate if i play another game like it. | |

| It does have an interesting control option for melee that's only available with a gamepad. Basically you press a button to enter combat mode then the right stick controls your weapon so you'll pull left on the stick then flick it right and your character will slash from left to right. It's a bit gimmicky and I doubt I'd use it if I played through the whole game but it was a cool thing to try. | |

| All the reviews I've seen say it's Left 4 Dead meets Fallout 3. The whole skill tree and RPG aspect look really good. I probably have to pass though because there are too many other games I want | |

| Dead Island is pretty good, I have it since launch and I never encountered any bugs, some people encountered many... guess you need to be lucky.
but it's a pretty good game. can get pretty scary at times too.
