It just dawned on me that I've never actually beaten a Mario or Sonic game.

I highly recommend playing Sonic '06, it is one of the best games to come out of the last decade.

If you want to beat a Mario game, start with Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World.

This is a one of a kind game, mang. It's also really cheap since the game's been out for almost 5 years now so you can buy the game for relatively cheap.

Those are the games I've been playing on / off for over a decade, but never seem to make any real progress in when all's said and done. That's more of a Bros. thing than a World thing, though.

How 'bout Super Mario 64. It's pretty fun!

D'ya think that would play well through a keyboard? Because I'm willing to play it, but unwilling to buy a N64.

It's playable through the keyboard, but better with an N64.

If you play Mario bros 3 and super mario world just remember.

Mario bros 3: Almost every white square you can fall behind for a secret.
In the first world, land 3 and the small castle have whistles.
And you can redo lands to get the prize the princess gives. That way you can farm up "P clouds"

Super Mario World: Every red level has more than 1 exit.
The first star is at the closest ghost house you see when you get to Donut land.
The other ghost house has a secret spot so you can farm up "1-ups" if you find the secret exit to the ghost house.
The hardest level in the game is "Tubular".

I've beaten Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 for the Gamecube. As for Mario, do his spinoff games count (i.e. Mario Party, Mario Cart, Mario Tennis)?

I think i finished new super mario bros and a bunch of the sonics i never really liked mario.

Also finding the whistles in mario made me feel like I was supposed to not bother playing levels.

I've beaten Sonic 2, Sonic Adventure, & Super Mario Bros. 64

I've also beaten Super Mario Bros. Crossover if that counts.

I've watched a friend beat Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I'd have beaten it myself if I didn't be a fag and just repeatedly played Sonic's first level just for the song. XD

EDIT: I forgot about Sonic Advance, But I've beaten it as Tails, So I dunno if that counts. XD

In the first mario the first time i played it i ended up warping from world 1 to 8, suffice to say i felt cheated and fuck this.

I've 100% beaten Super Mario Bros 1, 2 & 3, and Super Mario World, and Sonic 1, 2, 3 + Sonic & Knuckles, including the geeky but cool feature where you could pair Sonic 3 & Sonic & Knuckles combo on the Megadrive / Genesis.

Yes, they're all the older titles. I never really got on with the 3d titles, even Mario 64 and Galaxy; while they were great games, they never hooked me like the earlier efforts.

Sonic CD, is also one of the best Sonic games there is.

The only thing I remember from Sonic CD is the theme tune. I want to call it "toot-toot Sonic Warrior", but I know that's not it's name. I didn't have a Mega CD, so never played much of it.
