They weren't that deep, it just wasn't shallow, as you could actually use cancels and juggles

Those weren't exactly the combos listed in the game itself though, that's just some basic cancel combo you can pull off that most people use. Each character had a pretty lengthy combo list with a lot more cancel/combo possibilties, the fact that you can combine the combos through the use of canceling is what makes it interesting and creative.

And when it comes to Infinite World, it was pretty much B3 and SB/SB2's love child on steroids(it was amazing how they made it so you could use your supers during ANY combo you wished, it opened up for some new cancels).

I never actually played infinite world i heard a lot of people bitch about it so i ended u skipping that game and checking out the BT games at that point.

People bitched because they either didn't like the lack of a story mode(save for some pretty cool, but too few cutscenes) or simply because they sucked. Seriously, so many people complained about it being too hard when it reached certain fights where the enemy's health kept increasing. They didn't stop and think that maybe they should go to the shop and buy the health upgrades to progress.

Gameplay-wise, the only one negative thing was that obnoxious fatigue gauge. It doesn't hinder the experience a lot, but it wasn't necessary to have. Other than that issue and some small other lame removals, the major additions and changes really kicked ass.
