Buu plays: Shining in the Darkness (The first Shining Force game)

This game is slightly unusual in that it is first person and it seems like an odd choice seeing as the rest of the series uses map based combat. General gist of the story is kidnapped princess, I have to navigate a labyrinth to rescue her the big bad is dark sol, i'm pretty sure that guy is in Shining force 1, he's probably this guys father from what i hear about the timeline. If you guys want screenshots let me know.

Seems like this game is one big dungeon kinda like persona 3 and you work your way through it throughout the game, the town seems to be the RPG part of the game as you can chataway in the tavern, anyway i'll get to playing the game i can't really comment at the moment.

1 big dungeon is the WHOLE game. Shit gets insane one you get to floor 5 too.

It seems pretty easy so far it feels like a bit of a grind fest you kinda go in realise you gotta retreat then try and get further the next time. So far I got through the trial of strength and killed a crab boss.

I'm cheating slightly as I couldn't be assed to draw my own map so used one online >_>.

Yea I would never draw my own map. Only the most hardcore do that.

I get the impression immersion would be way deeper if i did that way though. As you'd panic when you were so close to getting somewhere but ended up fucking up and having to retreat.

The mage in this is awesome though when she picks a fight with that giant merc.

Cleared the trials can now enter the labyrinth proper as they put it. Not really a story to this game its more about exploring the dungeon gotta admit although its not as good as the other games it makes you want to explore more.

I've got mythril shields on two of my characters, haven't really upgraded the other stuff too much as its all a bit expensive and i don't think i need the extra defence yet well i'll find out when i go up afloor.

Got completely stuck on level 3 of this game and i doubt i'll ever complete it, as its a freaking long walk to get to that place.

I beat it before, not bragging or anything.......oh wait, yea I'm totally braggin nvm.

I could beat it but that would involve grinding and i hadn't grinded up to that point so i refuse to do it.
