| Worth the money so far? I haven't played any of the Sly games, just a demo of 3, I'm considering getting this, but I'm not sure yet. | |

Sly 2 was my favourite back when I first played them. Having played the first 2 now, I actually prefer the first one.

It would be pretty hard to say they wouldn't be if you think about it. Platformer is a fairly dead genre this gen as uncharted 2 i probably more TPS then platformer. Also games are pretty short this gen either way get your ass to finishing castlevania and i will do likewise I got to a fuck off titan and got beaten like a bitch so i need to go wreck his shit later.

| Yeah, I have to get around to that at some point, but it's taking a temporary back seat for Assassin's Creed right now.
That ice titan thing was a bitch, is this other titan like that one?

It's worth the money, especially if you have played them already. I'm very familiar with the games, and I reckon I'll have clocked up at least 30 hours in total by the time Sly 3 is finished. The first one is really different from the other two as well, and the 3rd had a lot more mission variety than the 2nd from what I remember. So it won't feel like playing the same game 3 times.

That ice titan thing was a bitch, is this other titan like that one? Like that but a lot harder and way more epic, your probably smaller then this ones foot. I also get the impression i'm getting close to the point that the game would get me completely hooked. A lot more moves are unlocking and the plotline is starting to interest me.

| In the second one it's only really fun to play as Sly, since he gets all the cool abilities. When you're Murray you're just fighting and when you're Bentley you're just doing hacking minigames. But Bentley is awesome in Sly 3, and Murray had some new stuff to do. I think there was also the odd mission where you played as one of the side characters as well. Plus there was a whole pirate thing as well. | |

Where I am, the basic plot pretty much seems like 'go kill the leaders of the lycans, vampires and necros and steal their powers in order to become some unstoppable force'.

I've been told this game is meant to have one of the best stories of this gen.

| Incredibly basic. Press square to hit something, wait for them to get back up, hit them again. That's pretty much it. Unless it's flashlight guard, in which case they shoot you in between getting hit.
Unless you're Murray, most of the time the idea is to avoid combat.

| Well, in Sly 1 everything dies in one hit anyway, including you, and there's less emphasis on stealth. I think because of the one-hit thing they made the enemies slower and easier to fight.
In Sly 2 and 3 fighting is harder because they take a few hits, and every enemy gets up with an attack animation, so if you're next to them when they get up you get hurt. Plus unlike the first game, they can call out for other enemies in the area.
In Sly 1 the enemies were basically obstacles to get over, places in specific parts of the levels. Each level in Sly 1 was linear, apart from the very small hub worlds, so it worked fine. But in Sly 2 and 3 each chapter is a small sandbox area, with the guards just patrolling around. You can pickpocket them for stuff to sell, and there's a proper stealth kill so you don't have to get into combat. It does make a sound until you upgrade it though, so you can't stealth kill one guard too close to another one.
Murray has a "stealth" kill as well, although it's not silent. It's just an instant kill for guards that haven't seen you really. Bentley has sleeping darts and bombs.

| doubt the PS1 games have aged well they never do, i did like wrath of heaven though. Also games with level creators are always win.
If they made a new one on PS3 with a level creator and you could upload levels i'd never need to buy another game again.

| I just started Sly 3 and oh God I forgot all about the damn Hazard Room. The other games didn't have forced tutorial sections like this. | |

| I just finished Sly 2 and wow, that last sequence before beating the crap out of Clock-La was annoying.
Anyways, onto Sly 3. | |

| How come the sound keeps going down and up during the Clockwork fight at the end of the first game? | |
