Got the blunderbuss. I knew it was a spread weapon, but I was not expecting any group of zombies I pointed it at to literally explode. It was hilarious. But the ammo truly is limited for this gun, or at least at the moment, because you have to make it. You only get 5 shots for free, and then you have to collect undead body parts to make ammo for it. 10 parts gives you 1 ammo.

I just found the Famine horse. My War horse died from a fall, so it was a lucky find. Annoyingly though it only had unlimited stamina, whereas War had that and it could set stuff on fire.
Down in Mexico now too. 6 hours played and 47% complete.

My biggest complaint about this is that there's not enough actual missions. It's mostly saving towns and clearing graveyards. Saving a town basically involved going round to all the survivors giving them ammo, and then killing the remaining zombies, and there's a lot of locations where you have to do that. But there's only been a few proper missions so far.

Well, you can only carry 20 blunderbuss ammo, and 100 undead ribs, which is another 10 ammo you can make. Plus it takes a long time to reload and you can't run very fast while reloading, so unless it kills every zombie in the group it's kind of pointless.

Well, I finished the story in about 8 and 1/2 hours. Still got the challenges left to do. Torn on the ending.
Spoiler:
You end up as a zombie, but you can still do all the stuff you could do while alive. Which doesn't completely make sense, and even from a pure gameplay perspective, it's not that great. Marston is making zombie noises all the time, and you never know if it's him or another zombie creeping up behind you.

For an £8 DLC add-on, it was definitely worth it. It's not just a few extra missions (well, it's barely a few extra missions, but that's not the point I'm making at the moment). You have to select it from the main menu, rather than it being part of the main game, and it has it's own save file and stuff. There's a few extra locations added.
The lighting and weather effects are different too. Sunsets are now a sickly sort of yellow purple colour. It's foggier more often and rain is less frequent. Out in the wilderness the colours seem a bit washed out and the sky is overcast, but when you get to a safe town everything brightens up a bit.

I got the full Undead Nightmare pack. I don't know whether it was all the add-ons or if it was the patch I got when I first started to replay RDR, but it seems that my multiplayer experience has smoothed out. I used to get disconnected from the server every two seconds before, with a few rare exceptions, and now its seems like I can play just fine. Maybe when I get back up to speed, I'll see if you guys are interested in some coop or something.
I must say, with the undead multiplayer skins plus the Liars and Cheats multiplayer minigames (of Poker and Liar's Dice), the whole setup almost seems like the start of a joke.

HOLY CRAP! Undead Nightmare does not screw around! The zombies were swarming me so bad that I ran out of shotgun ammo in the first real encounter (post-Professor) and have needed to use Casual aiming ever since!

Really? I never ran out of ammo, or got swarmed. Well, only once, and that was because they all caught up with me while I was opening a chest, and you can still take damage during the little "opening chest" animation.

It was at the beginning of the game, before I even got the torch. I wasn't expecting the zombies to start swarming me so quickly. I didn't even get a chance to loot the few I shot down.

As long as you loot a lot and make sure to get every chest after you've saved a town, ammo shouldn't be a problem, especially if you use a lot of the weapons. If you're low on repeater ammo, use a pistol or something. The only thing you'll ever get close to running out of is shotgun ammo, and that's only because it has the lowest capacity while being the most fun to use. Especially the semi-automatic shotgun. Headshots with that thing make a really satisfying gloopy thud.

I've pretty much been doing that ever since I saved Blackwater. Variety is the spice of death, right?
