This looks like burnout 2 the greatest racing game ever made:
From the gameplay footage i've seen this is basically what burnout 6 should have been. Its' made by criterion and seems to have adopted burnout playstyle but real cars.

Burnout 3 is much better than Burnout 2.

Track design in burnout went dowhill after 1 and 2.
4 had some decent innovations due to the jumping, but the poor traffic checking cost it. Also urban and gritty is getting old we need more sand and beaches. Although i did like that one track in B3 where there is a huge golden buddha at the top of the hill.
Only thing that made burnout 3 cool was it had the best DJ and it introduced takedowns which were cool, but the removal of the burnout bar was one of the worst turns for the series. Dominator did fix this and possibly had some of the best gameplay.
Still overall design 2 is a firm favourite especially as it had the stock cars and the various tournaments and awards only unlocked if you came first every race. Thats not even including the fact burnout 2 had by far the biggest diversity in car handling weight and various other mechanics. Also cops and robbers was an amazing mode.
Actually come to think of ti burnout 2 is even better the more i think about it. If your wondering yeah i do play it even still occasionally so i'm not just being nostalgic (i own all the burnouts)

I have all the Burnouts. Got the last one (complete...ish version) with Trivial Pursuit as a double pack... cheap.
I loved the original Hot Pursuit so if this is anywhere near as good as that I will take a serious look at the game. I remember playing the original with a friend and we both played cops chasing the speeders. Great fun to say the least. If our cars had not lost their roof bar by the time we finished we were not trying hard enough!

This will pretty much be what burnout paradise should have been. If you're more of a need for speed month NFS shift 2 will be out a couple of months after this.

...Burnout 3 HAD a Burnout bar. O_o Unless it was somehow different in the other versions. aka, No speed boost.
That, And the Indy Cars were cash.
Anyhow, Yeah, Saw a trailer similar to this at Gamestop. This trailer looks cooler though.

I saw a trailer for that during E3. Does look good. There's too many games coming out that I want though. LBP2, RB3, Enslaved, Spidey: SD, and so on.

ITs nbot a burnout bar its a boost bar, you could no longer do burnouts in burnout 3 and 4 it was brought back in 5 with the supercharge (that game was sweet), paradies fucked it up by having it only on certain cars.

Diverting away from the whole Burnout thing, I think this looks interesting but I reserve proper judgment until some actual gameplay is shown.

Looks good. I really like how it isn't in the hyper-urban environments that seem so prevalent in the racing genre these days.

Fucking hell
Driving comments: Handling is decent this basically plays like Burnout 3-5 (lets face it paradise sucked), cars are no longer delicate flowers that can be destroyed in a light hit, now you can total a car with a decent plan i.e. i roadblocked a guy he had to slam on the brakes i went full pelt into him smashing him into the police cars totalling him, whereas his buddy i knocked his energy down bit by bit.
Just played the demo cop mode is fucking sweet, damn this looks like another game on the must buy pile. FFFFFFFFFFF- may wait for a price drop i predict some crazy ass price drops in the christmas run up.
I want to play the other mode but i can't until one of you guys plays the demo. You guys go play it NAOW.

I dunno. Cop mode is basically Burnout 3, but it feels slower and heavier.

Takedowns were awful and i mean awful in B3 i always think peoples memory is a bit too rose tinted if you coughed the car in front would total itself, feeling like Burnout is not a bad thing.
You probably remember playing burnout with the fastest cars in this game a 350z is nowhere near a top end car.
I agree though the car did feel heavy not sure if thats a bad thing it just was a bit odd.
Also i think this just made me realise how potentially cop escape would be also nonny new modes on split second are available for download.

I still play Burnout 3 now, every so often. There's nothing rose tinted about my memory of it.
I also don't like the drifting much. Feels really delicate.

If you think psyche out = a good take down mechanic you obviously are seeing it rose tinted, or your that bad that you need the computer to crash just so you felt like you got a take down.
On another note the time trials on this game are stupidly hard i can gold everything else but i suck at the time trials especially the cop ones grazing anything causes a time penalty and some of the races are 15-20 miles long.

Well this was a couple of years ago apparently but it looks like i'm commnting on take downs being shit due to psyche outs and saying you thinking the 3 had good mechanics is rose tinted. Then you said you weren't rose tinted.
So that sounds like your pro psyche outs to me considering thats what i was talking about.

Well it took me about 10 seconds to remember what psyche outs were. I assume they were there to replicate the feeling of facing human opponents, although how the game judged whether someone was psyched out or not I don't know. But I never had a problem with them. Never had a problem with the game at all, except for Road Rage events on tracks that didn't loop. Those sucked.

Pssh with psyche outs it didn't even matter if the course looped you could get the kills in no time you just had to drive vaguely near them for a second.

The non-looping tracks may as well have been timed, that's why I didn't like them. I liked going until I got destroyed.

Road rage was the easiest thing in Burnout 3. That whole game was a joke aside from that one time trial with the hot rod, then i realised that car was a bit glitchy and how to use that to my advantage to make even that time trial a joke.
