I'm gonna assume at least the Brits and Euros on here are watching it.
Who do you think's gonna win it this year?
I'd say Spain.

I expected better of France, but their new coach isn't good enough. Leaving Nasri and Benzema at home was stupid, as was playing offensively with a defensive set up.
Uruguay are by no means a bad tea though, they got a red card from that game too, sucks to be them.

The Netherlands have some skill, if their Olympic team was anything to go by. I tihnk they'll make it through their group easy enough.

I just like holland for there attacking play
they are the european brazil plus they deserve to win a world cup hopefully this is there year
and yeah i know i'm in england but appalling organisation dooms them every time the media messes up the players mentality to
I think our best chance was 1990, my main reason for caring about england matches is gerrard he deserves world class gold

Yeah, Holland are one of the better teams to watch. Brazil's team is getting older now though, they're playing more defensively.

We will stomp through the group matches and die horribly in the knock-out round, just like every cup.

Holland during '98-2000 was pure win.
You don't have to understand Dutch to feel that epicness. And that goal was made at the very end of the match.

Dennis Bergkamp was fantastic. He plays for Man Utd now, doesn't he?

He quit the footballing world 2 or 3 years ago and he played for Arsenal. he had the most amazing farewell match ever. It was current Arsenal vs. '98 Holland even using the same coach (Guus Hiddink, coached Australia 4 years back). Bergkamp played for Arsenal in the first half and for Holland in the second half.

Ah alright, that really is a great farewell. I must have been thinking of someone else.

Maybe you're thinking of Van Nistelrooy.

I took great pleasure watching France look rubbish yesterday. Of course, when England inevitably lose on penalties in the quarter / semi final, I'll be in tears, but that's kinda half the fun.

Swore at the TV tonight. Lots. Not only were England rubbish, being held 1-1 by the USA, but I didn't even see the goal - thanks to a cock up on ITV HD, they ran a commercial break four minutes into the game. When the coverage resumed, England had scored. There was plenty of effing and jeffing. Then to compound things, we threw the game away, literally, as our keeper spilled a timid shot straight into his own net. Twat.

Gerrard scored in the first few minutes.
