I like to pretend Dragonball evolution doesn't exist.

Why? You act like it's that big of a stain on DB's history.

I agree with this. It's easier for Americans to adapt comic books set in... well , America.

I think dragonball had a big enough impact over here that fans can expect the series to have been done some justice. But I know I'm just kicking a dead animal with this though.

Ace, DB was long since dead when that movie was made. It was a stupid attempt at making money off of something that was dead, like with the Double Dragon movie.
Although unlike the Double Dragon movie it actually amassed some amount of money.

That has bugger all to do with it. The American comics industry is based around variety and reinvention. A director doing their own spin on a character or story in the film medium is no different than an author/artist doing their own spin on a character in the comics medium. It's common place and it's accepted. There's plenty of room to actually adapt Marvel and DC comics because there is no definitive single version of any of the characters.

That and the storyline can vary depending on the massive amounts of villains compared to the singular story lines most anime have.

Oh so an anime that hasn't been released yet over here already has high viewer counts?

They will get high view counts in NA. I can't remember the last time DBZ was on T.V.

Japan's comic companies need to start operating like Marvel and license out their franchises to new authors and artists for one shots and stuff.

Oh, so you're just talking out of your ass and assuming that the kids of this generation are going to get over Naruto for DBZ?

People will tune in to Kai and think "Where's Rock The Dragon?" and then change channel.

I blame the fans. Even Marvel and DC fans bitch when is something isn't "right" about the character or story.
