Started reading this yesterday and it's pretty damn awesome. The dialogue is A+++ just like in the show. The storyline isn't anything special yet, though I'm only about 8 issues in and there's been 40 issues out (I think the season will end at 44 or something like that) so there's still enough time to improve.

Yes. It's overseen by Joss Whedon himself and some issues are written by him. Angel also had a comic continuation called Angel: After the Fall, but that has ended a while ago. There's a new Angel comic series in production now though.
