I never played FFVI. But from the short time I've seen him. He already left an impression he was a better villain than Sephiroth!

Yes but he was an example of a Good Villain! He was psychotic, killed his own King, and even erected a tower made of people in his honor and turned into an angel! He may have failed. But it was a good run!
