Na didn't watch the whole video.  My point is it just will never offer the freedom of a mouse as it will only go so far.  If you had to do all your mouse movements within 2cm it would be annoying.  I think its more an inherent design flaw that you can't overcome no matter how hard you try.  Joystick or mouse is the way to go.  This is jack of all trades master of none.  It does look like it works well, but I'd rather use a joypad or a mouse.

(I'm sure this will work with a mouse and keyboard combo anyways)

You probably should watch the rest of the video. I'm pretty certain they stated that portal was just to demonstrate some basic mode.

It was to demonstrate Legacy Mode, or something to that effect. Basically how the controller would work with games that weren't designed to use it. Actually I don't think any of the showcased games had proper control schemes for the controller, that was probably the point.

Some people got to have a look at the prototype system and controller and it looks pretty cool, bear in mind that neither will ever actually be available to the public. I was impressed to see that they had put together a box about the size of a 360 that's several times more powerful and has better cooling.

$1000???

Yea that's failing if the idea is to capture console gamers PS3 was $600 and that didn't start making money until Sony dropped the price. No way are console gamers dishing out a grand. PC games might buy it, but I'm fairly certain you can get a pretty good gaming rig under $1000.
