You can relate to someone the more you hav in common wiht them that can make a game more enjoyable. Them being the same gender can help you with that.

That said i wouldn't pass a game just because of a characters gender.

I'm just glad they let Buu have internet access at his old folks home. What would we do here without his senile shenanigans. Plus he has the best stories. Tell us about the time you first got indoor plumbing again. That one's my favorite.

Yeah that was pretty hilarious none of the taps were working then we realised, water was leaking cause we hadn't connected the cardboard tubes together properly.

Fire Emblem for GBA one of three main characters was a girl and in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn one of the main characters was a girl. Also there's Dead Nation which is a shared protagonist role between Jack and Scarlett.
