Playing Genesis/MegaDrive Games

Viewing how games of that system hold up to me today, which are still good, which were good, now bad, which were bad and are still bad, which ones I never played and play now, and placing what I think of them here

Beginning phase 1, and Sonic the Hedgehog series won't be my starting point

Captain Planet & the Planeteers
"Let our powers combine". Fuck you, you can't choose who you play with, you start in the sewers, rats coming from everywhere and you are forced to watch your back every 3 seconds for more rats. To infinity, and BEYOND

Chakkan the Forever Man
I used to like it when I first played it on emulator back in 2002, now not so much, controls are slow, the main guy voice sucks, starting screen has this anguished scream that anguishes me ears
Somewhat has its decency, so I'm gonna give it a starting 4/10

The Smurfs
Who the fuck thought it was a great idea to make a game where one character is hated by everyone in his happy village and all goes against him hurting him? Even a guy who just spills water from a bucket out of his window?
0/10 (nothing that negative cause controls are nice and smooth)

The Smurfs 2
You go to a portal that sends you to a closed area, it's somewhat worse, in other ways better than the first
Same lame score of 0

Might as well get over the crap for now and present the list of good Sega Genesis games that I find nice and playable today, even if they are ports from multi-console ports:

1. Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millennium
   Good RPG, nice story, unlike the previous ones, it's playable which can't be said about the installments preceding it
   
   
2. Sonic the Hedgehog 1 - 3&K
   These are so simple, and really good, Sonic 3 & Knuckles remains to this day the best Sonic the Hedgehog game ever made
   
   
3. Batman 1989 (released 1990 by Sunsoft)
   I like this one more than the NES game, that one is kinda too hard, this one is more playable, and I enjoy the tracks here more, especially the batmobile and batwing levels
   
   
4. MK2 (32X)
   Cause it has better pictures and sound effects than the 16bits port, and this is the most badass fighting game ever, so badass it's almost on every system and inspired other games, hard not to like it
   
   
5. MK3
   Best MK game on the 16 bit Genesis in how it was handled
   
   
6. UMK3
   Downgraded treatment compared to the regular MK3, but this one is the best version of UMK3 with all locations and characters
   
   
7. SF2 & SSF2
   Still awesome, nothing more to say
   
   
8. Shinobi 3
   As much as I may get flamed about it, this one is the best Shinobi game out there, can't say the best ninja game seeing the 2 NG Sigma games on the PS3 are, this one is awesome
   
   
9. Aladdin (Disney)
   Fun game, and I'm upset it's better than the SNES game seeing how that one was made by Capcom, my favorite developers
   
   
10. Castlevania Bloodlines
    Eric, simply for Eric, his spear, and super charged jump
    Theme of stage 4 is epic
    
    
11. Streets of Rage 2 & 3
    The first one sucks, the other 2 are wonderful, loved playing them before, still do
    
    
12. Gunstar Heroes
    Added cause TIF reminded me of a fun game I played, it's still fun, forgot I replayed it recently

I found Sonic 2 more enjoyable than Sonic 3 and Knuckles. That was my favorite 2D Sonic.

Of the Sonic games I still play, S2 is kinda my least favorite, at least it's a great game, nothing to hate about it, a lot to love

A couple of Asterix games
Horrendous nonsense. 2/10 for both games

Adventures of TinTin
Controls are kind of slow, but it's alright for a Genesis game, not too terrible. 5/10

Boogerman
Googer, farts and burps, best weapons to use in order to disgust the player and repulse if the player can't stand that stuff at all, not to ignore the nose portals and toilets cheap Mario pipes imitation. Who invented that shit?

A Bugs Life
Almost the same thing from the gameboy thing, a little nicer, only no passwords, sucks

Love how the characters dance when they stand still, me mocking them made my bro lose his guts laughing

PS2 Shinobi was the best Shinobi. I love castevania bloodlines.

You should play Sunset Riders. I would recommend other games but if you didn't like them i'd have to kill you.

You didn't like Phatasy Star 2? You're crazy man. 3 Gets alot of hate but I love how the story changes depending on who you marry and stuff. The whole gneration aspect was pretty awesome.

Playing Story of Thor, The - A Successor of The Light, kinda plays like Legend of Zelda from the SNES, only problem is he doesn't enter rooms. Name made me think it's a game based on Thor as a playable character, the Marvel character, not the mythical one

This version extension add to its joy, I think that makes it an equal to the judgment version. Need to go back and play it

There are times when seeing how a game used to feel nice at first becomes ugly after viewing games with much better graphics, Virtua Fighter on the 32X looks much worse more crap than what my bro felt of DoA 1, it's sadder that gameplay is slow too

Sunset Riders feels like Robocop 1 from arcade, and some other sidescroll games I enjoy, fun game

Battle Toads & Double Dragon is still a fun game

Konami had a thing about making WB animation games back at the time, Tiny Toons and Animiniac had decent games back at the time

I wish the released their game for the 90s Batman cartoon for the Genesis instead of that thing with annoying Genesis tracks style, that version is too hard, too much come at you at once, there are fun values to it

Speaking of Konami, If you haven't given Contra Hard Corps a go already, Do so. It is my favorite Contra to date with Hard Corps Uprising following in second.

Contra on the Genesis is one of the hardest games on the system
