I'm glad that the crew is back because it's stupid things like Luffy thinking weapons being lodged into a door is somehow a place that carries food that makes him unable to carry a story on his own and make it interesting.

Okay, what in the hell is going on in this story? First there's Caribou, then there's the new Fishmen Pirates and now this Decken character. Will please pick a damn villain and stick with it, Oda?

Alright, there is a massive clusterfuck of things happening right now.

There was a massive clusterfuck of things happening in Water Seven too and that was one of the best arcs.

This is not however. Where as Water Seven was interesting this is just bizarre. The whole thing going on with Hodi is fine, but the stuff with Sanji, Chopper and Hachi really didn't go anywhere other than them meeting up with Luffy again only for Luffy to just leave them again and... Vanderdecken is just annoying, he really does not seem like a perceivable threat even when they showed off how good his ability is.

Hodi is fine, I think Arlong was a better Merman antagonist but Hodi is at least imposing and somewhat threatening... aside from the steroids. Really, this whole Vanderdecken thing could be removed and I would be much more engaged, as it stands I really do not like how the pacing of the story is right now.

Maybe it'll get better as I'm only on Chapter 619 right now.

Which reminds me, I need to read Water Seven again. It's been a good while. Is Funimation that far in the dub yet? Because I saw that they have Greg Ayres voicing Young Franky on the One Piece Wiki.
