Kaio rewatches the original X-Men trilogy

In preparation for First Class. And I'll be watching X3 as a bonus just to remind myself how bad this movie was.

God, this opening is so amazing.

Awww, isn't Anna Paquin just the sweetest with her southern accent and her cute face.

But wait, Rogue's supposed to be a villain at first! And she doesn't have Ms. Marvel's powers! Fucking Fox ruining the comics.

And Jesus, Jean is now giving lectures in the Senate or whatever?! UGH.

Already an amazing stand-off between Xavier and Magneto.

I like how the Dutch subs translate Wolverine to Wolfman.

The dialogue between Rogue and Wolverine in the car is pretty great. No toads and thunder stuff the movie is so infamous for yet.

She just showed up by acting all badass together with Cyclops.

Too bad both will get more of a bother once they open their mouths.

Logan exploring the school showed off some amazing acting chops.

I admit, I laughed.

Time for an extended scene where Storm teaches a class with her ambiguous accent. Fucking hilarious.

And there's Rogue talking to Kitty who actually has lines and then there's Jubilee AND OH GOD TURNED IT OFF UGHHHHHHH WHY IS SHE IN THIS.

And there's Bobby Drake, all pimp and shit.

Isn't she in the second movie briefly?

Wait, Jubilee was in the first movie? I must have repressed this since I don't remember it.

She's in a deleted scene.

Probably my biggest problem with the movie is all the scenes spent on developing Wolvie's relationship with Jean, which should've been spent on developing Cyclops and Jean. Overall, Cyclops got very much screwed in favour of Wolverine.

The "Stay away from my girl" scene was good though.

Cyclops got screwed in all three films, which is a shame becuase James Marsden is a really good actor. It's a pity none of the three films gave him a chance to show it, instead foucssing on everyone's Wolverine-shaped boner.

Also, Halle Berry. How this woman won an Oscar for Best Actress never ceases to amaze. She's awful.

Hey lookie, a scene where Storm doesn't have an accent at all.

Toad schooling Cyclops, Storm and Jean at the same time is probably the dumbest thing in the movie. Seriously, he's the goddamn Toad. And then he gets one-shotted by a one-liner with a poor accent.

Thankfully it happened at the same time as the awesome Wolverine vs. Mystique fight.

She only won that because the NAACP complained to the Academy. Denzel Washington won Best Actor the same year and he didn't deserve it either.

The final scene with Xavier and Magneto is a great end to a great movie.
