The 10 Cardinal Rules of Comics I have discovered.

1. Each comic publisher must have a joke of a hero (Booster Gold for DC, Deadpool for Marvel)
2. The hero is of varying ages but very rarely is it a child (Captain Marvel being an example)
3. Most of the villains are just insane, that is to say, they all have some sort of mental deficiency that they can't seem to overcome.
4. The villains always wear gaudy attire.
5. So do the heroes.
6. In fact, even some of the humans do.
7. Peter Parker must be miserable.
8. Batman is always prepared.
9. PETER PARKER MUST BE MISERABLE.
10. Stan Lee is awesome.

Booster Gold/Deadpool aren't really joke characters. Especially Booster. He doesn't do anything that's funny, really. Deadpool used to be funny, before he went semi-insane.

Villains are just like irl criminals - they all technically have sort of hang-up in their mind that wouldn't sit well with any psychiatrist. It's not like they're anymore nuts than the baddies in the real world.

But yeah, I know, they are jokes of heroes as in despite being heroes they're treated like jokes.
