Who has Xbox live?

I don't....

It keeps telling me I need some "Ethernet" Cable. Then once I got one, and plugged into my laptop, it won't let me get live? Now what to do I do?

you need a router to get internet unless you're getting it from a public source

wouldn't the sensible thing to do be plugging your ethernet cable from your router to your xbox

What's my router again, I'm not real bright when it comes to all this modern age technology.

router = the thing that gives you your wireless connection

normally its got a bunch of ports
just plug the ethernet cable into that and your xbox and you should be online immediately
