Ehhhhhhhh.
Seemed to me that Tarantino tried pretty hard to ruin his own film by being himself all over it and shoving ridiculous genre movie bullshit that didn't belong in there and just ended up being inconsistent while ruining the integrity of the film.
Like those stupid character introduction with the silly title cards that only appeared about twice. Why do that only twice? Either introduce all the main characters that way or don't do it all because it ends up looking fucking retarded compared the rest of the film. Same with the Sam Jackson voice over bits. Why? It was so god damn stupid. And most of the music was just... I dunno, the only way to describe it is "modern Tarantino". Most of the time it sounded like recycled Kill Bill tracks and for the most part it was incredibly wrong for this movie.
And having "Chapter such and such" pop up every now and then just annoyed me. I was like "Really? We're doing this again?" I mean for once the film was, I think, entirely in chronological order, so it just stopped the move dead for a few seconds for no good reason.
I dunno, most of it was good, but the rest was just Tarantino wanking away in self-indulgence. You know why Resevoir Dogs is his best film? Because it has the least amount of this bullshit in it:
So yeah, it had those great, long dialogue scenes which Taratino has always been famous for, but it's spoiled by having the other crap he's more recently become famous for.

I've never seen or heard of this movie outside this forum. Is this a low budget film?

It's also the only film I can think where the characters who spent the most time on screen weren't in the trailer at all.

just typical tarantino bullshit
was hardly publicised compared to his others but his fans were running to the cinema to watch this and probably brad pitt fanboys, you know those guys who always talk about how he's good looking and end up coming off gay
his films were going downhill from the start
do love reservoir dogs though

Oh most of the film is good. The scene in the bar and the opening scene are classic Tarantino scenes. It's just brought down by crap that would be better suited to Kill Bill or Death Proof.

I'd say this was possibly his worst film overall, because at least Kill Bill and Death Proof were consistent with their tone and intent. Although I haven't seen Jackie Brown.

I already said it was Reservoir Dogs. Second best would be Death Proof, because god damn it I loved Death Proof, and screw everyone who didn't.

For a car movie that only has two crashes, It was pretty good. ...Now I wanna listen to that Down in Mexico song...And the credits song.
I still think Planet Terror was the better of the two. But Death Proof wasn't total shit like others say. Then again, There was the 10 - 20 minute scene where the second group of chicks just sat around and talked, Maybe that's what people didn't like.

Fuck all of you, I agree that Tarantino's normal movie genre crap being inserted was pretty stupid but I didn't let that Chapter or other crap bother me, I still heavily enjoyed the film.
Even enough to get it on Blu-Ray.
I still need to watch Reservoir Dogs, though.

I honestly didn't care for Kill Bill and only saw the last 20 minutes of Death Proof, so I can't have much of an opinion on Death Proof.

Then you saw the car chase and the second crash. The first crash is brutal.

well its a great movie in its own right and a great tarantino movie the only reason i could see ppl not liking it is if they don't like gangster movies

Ah, now I remember. This is that army movie with Brad Pitt.
They did show a lot of commercials during the time it was out.

Long scenes of people sitting around talking is what Tarantino does best.
