Um, we're talking about character here. Not who can kick whom's ass. And even then Spike will kill him because he's just that fucking smart and cunning.

Dude, Not even a fucking fat floating penguin wanna-be assassin dude could kill Spike. And he was wicked. It took an epic showdown between him and Vicious to put him to rest. And even then, He didn't die. He just got reborn as Tom, The Host of Toonami.

As Baal said, however, the issue isn't about who is a superior fighter; it's about who is the better character overall... personality, badassery, backstory, etc. I may not be familiar with Spike, personally, but I feel that Roy is overrated. Counting from FMA alone, Hughes is far superior as an actual character.

Roy in botherhood (New FMA) is suppose to be a badass. He kills Lust in one hit.
