| Do a few more missions and they'll return to normal. After the Thermomoboby Tank escort or whatever, IIRC. | |

| That's where I was.
Anyway, now that I have the blade drop move it's replaced hammerfist as my favourite.

| Storywise, that's roughly where I am too. I've just beaten the Supreme Hunter. | |

I'm quite a bit past that now. Just bought the hammertoss, which would be cool except it's pretty hard to actually hit anything with it.

| I think I'm on 28/31 missions so far. I've been catching up on the events though. Race and Glide ones are fairly easy, but some of the kill ones seem damn impossible to get gold on. | |

| I got it for Kenji today.
Tomorrow is last day of school, so then I can hopefully play it. Sometime in the two weeks of the holiday I'm home...

| I played around with some of the early events, though it seemed pretty clear that it was impossible to get gold on a few of them without sufficient upgrades. | |

| I think the easiest events are definately the Glide ones. I've got gold on all of them, excluding two of the latter ones where you have to maneuver around buildings blocking your target. I haven't figured out how to beat them yet. | |

| New game+ is a dissapointment. You don't actually keep all your abilities (you keep all your combat powers, but othger skills are missing, like being able to jack choppers), and the city doesn't acctually reset properly (there's still hunters and infected roaming around inside the military controlled zone) and not all the events are available anymore.
I'll stick with post story free roam instead.

| I just finished the story. I've only got about half the Web of Intrigue, so I'm still not entirely sure quite what was going on, but I did enjoy it a lot. Now for the rest of it... | |

| As much as I love the game, there are a few annoying things.
Despite the many attacks you have, a few things seems missing. I wish that after grabbing on to a tank or helicopter, I could attack it rather than having to hijack it or jump off. Also wish I could catch things thrown at me.
Also, the game commits a major gaming sin, which is having the main character use a power in a cutscene that he can't do in the game. It does it twice actually. In the intro Alex has the blade and a claw active at the same time, which you can't do, and he uses the claws while disguised, which you can't do.

I've seen a few people saying this, but I don't think I ever thought it was necessary. It might have been nice to swing helicopters around by their tails I suppose. - Quote :

Hulk could do it in UD, so we have to assume the developer either felt it made the game too easy, or it didn't suit the character and his world. - Quote :

This never really bothers me to be honest, otherwise I'd never have enjoyed the likes of God of War and Devil May Cry. With all that said, the game isn't perfect. The story is a little jumbled, with many threads seeming to end abruptly (maybe leaving things open for a sequel?), and the pacing isn't always very well done. The final mission was a bit of an anti climax too, though the ending scene itself was pretty cool. Gameplay wise, I'd have to say that my biggest gripe is that the game was more fun in the early stages, where you were more or less invincible, and genuinely could roam freely unhindered. Late game, there are too many machines that can detect you, even hurt you, dozens of choppers patrolling the sky and tanks on ground, SuperSoldiers and Hunters in abundance, and it just seems that when you try and have some fun you get a slap on the wrist and get told you can't do it anymore. That sounds a little harsh, and the game is still huge fun, but there is still room for improvement.

There's an achievement for doing that, so you prolly can.

I've seen a few people saying this, but I don't think I ever thought it was necessary. It might have been nice to swing helicopters around by their tails I suppose. I'd just like more options. It's more satisfying to destroy a helicopter than steal it, and in midair the only way to do that is the cannonball, unless you can get above it and blade drop on to it. - SimianWonder wrote:

I think they just relied a bit too much on the Web of Intrigue. It's a nice device for filling out the story, but it's a little too necessary, and just going by info gained from story missions doesn't get you that far. But then again when you get round to it is a nice feeling to fill in some of the blanks. It's an odd trade off. For example... - Spoiler:
Karen. When it was revealed in the main story that she had double crossed it was just a kind of "Huh?" moment. It's mentioned once and that's it, you'd miss it if you weren't paying attention. But some of targets have memories about recruiting Karen and stuff. In the end I think I'd rather the main story be bulkier, but it makes for a unique set of collectibles by sandbox standards.
Also agree about the random, jumbled story and narrative threads left wide open. - Spoiler:
What the hell happened to Dana anyway? And Greene being built up and then being taken out a few missions from the end left everything hanging in a state of unease. The stroy seemed over but the game carried on. And then we find out randomly she had a son, which I assume was Cross, although how the hell no one knew that is mind boggling.

That sounds a little harsh, and the game is still huge fun, but there is still room for improvement. Eh, as long as you don't use any powers or attack the military they leave you alone. You can glide right by a helicopter and they don't take any notice.

| Well, about some of the loose ends... - Spoiler:
With Dana and PARIAH (Greene's son), I think their fates are left unknown for the purposes of sequels... or in my personal opinion, more specifically for Dana, downloadable content.
As for Karen, there is a special cutscene if you fulfill most of the consume missions. In it, Alex appears before Karen and... the cutscene stops. As with other areas of Prototype, it is left ambigious what happens afterwards; an eye-of-the-beholder moment, as it were.

Alex kills her. She's the big worm thing in the mother boss battle.

| The game froze on me earlier. First time that's happened. Only other glitchy thing that's happened is that one or two times a detector hasn't shown up on the map. Other than that, nothing. Not even frame rate drops, which is something. | |

Was Cross meant to be 'Pariah', Greene's son? Or was it simply a Hunter that had consumed the real Cross?

I think actually it's that the Super Hunter you fight earlier survived and consumes Cross. Pariah is something different that's probably just sequel bait.
