Colin Mcrae DiRT

Bought it today. Been years since I played a Colin Mcrae game. In fact I think only played the first one, or maybe the first two, back on the PS1. But they were fun games, and this looks to be as well. Nice variety of events, good track, good controls, good graphics. All in all pretty good. One thing I remember liking about the old games were the really long rally tracks set in the snowy mountains and such, and i've only just started this game so I haven't come across any of those yet. But there better be some long, snowy tracks somewhere in this game.

I'm not particularly a racing fan. I like simple racing games, where you just pick a car and race and it's fun and not necessarily realistic. Games like Gran Turismo and stuff I just can't do.

Well whatever. Didn't think about the purchase that much. Just felt like getting a good racing game. I was a bit bored of street racing, and DiRT was cheap.

How is it?

It's good. Career mode feels more like an arcade mode at the moment, but that's not a big deal. It's a good rally game, although I was disappointed that it lacks the fun cheats the earlier game had, like jelly cars, flying cars, etc.

It's part of the 360's best-seller range so it was £20 new. I did actually buy it for £20 used at first, but then I saw it for £20 new in another shop and went back and a got a refund.
