The number of rings tells you if it's the RROD or it's just overheating.

They use a different chip in it, but AFAIK the "cooling system" is exactly the same.

It is? They must have done something else to stop it overheating then. There was problmes with the way the circuits were mounted inside the console or something, and they ended up all warped due to the heat. I know they improved that, I just assumed they stuck a better cooler in too.

Ah well, my regular model works fine, that's all I care about.
