So what changed between the original TTGL and the dub?

I haven't watched any Dub episode after 2, so I wouldn't know.

They just cut out random scenes, like Nia becoming an anti-spiral for the first time and that's pretty much it.

Also Certain Kill Giga Drill Breaker is changed to Finishing Move Giga Drill Break, which means the awesome BREAAAAAKAAAAAAAAAAH is now just BREAAAK. It sounds nitpicky, but it actually makes the scenes where the move is used a little less awesome.

Even though Break is the real one I'm still calling it Breaker. Breaker is just so much more epic!

"Giga Drill Breaker" sounds like an attack. "Giga Drill Break" sounds like the stopping mechanism for a large vehicle. >_>

Exactly. We thought the Japanese came up with a cool attack name but even on the Japanese subtitles it said "GIGA DRILL BREAK"

I seriously wanna hurt the fucker who thought "Break" was a better idea than "Breaker".

But then again this is Gainax.

Subtitles aren't always reliable.

Just look at the OP subtitles. They still have the Viz/4Kids attack names in there, just like the dub.
